I have this feeling ladder test does not mean what you think it means.Loaded up 40 rounds of 44mag for a buddy to ladder test this weekend. Hes got a nice little lever gun but was complaining it hurt to shoot. Loaded from 7.8 up to 8.9gr of 231. Shouldnt kick too badly with that load.

Last night i got the 44 mags all flared and primed. Sized and deprimed all my 460 mag and setup the flare and seat dies for it. Waiting on primers for those.
I had it set just to size and deprime at station 1 and flare and station 2... It got all out of whack. I took it apart and put it back together, now its working again. I Think it just needed to be cleaned and tightened...
Although after I put it back together i got about 10 rounds through before I broke my effing bench.....

I'd recommend an O frame single stage for such a massive caliber.Shouldn't be stressing a bench that much with 9mm cases.

Nice. But it turns out i just missed the cross beam with the screw when i mounted it.... Well shit. Tried the press again last night and its still not working. Think i need new ratchet gears for itShouldn't be stressing a bench that much with 9mm cases.

True and I have heard of lots of variations of both tests. No rule on going up .1gr at a time. Most I've seen go up .2-.5, depending on case capacity.
