I did have to replace the ratchet gear in my pro 1000, but it came with a spare so no issue.

I use a teflon lube. Works well and stays much cleaner than the oil based. (Couldn't find a way to say that in a way that wouldn't end up OOC)

Not sure eho said it but someone here described loading the 460 mag with "more h110 powder than a sane person would ever put in a cartridge"

Well, that person was right. Loaded the first 15 last night using 47 grains. Almost had to stand back while seating the bullets....

Loaded up some 6.5 Creedmoor. 42.5gn was the best node for both bullets I tested last time. 140gn ELD-M & RDF so I loaded 20 rounds of each and loaded more rounds for testing. Last time I stopped at 43gn with no signs of pressure so I went up to 30.7 this time.

    Fuzzy math.

Rdf like to jump. Most use a 50-60thou jump for best results.

Sorted some .45 Colt brass. Had a bulging case from a cowboy load; glad it got fired in my Marlin and not my Remington.

Ran about 600 or so powder coated bullets through the sizing die. Just want to make sure they are good to go. Most are fine but about 5 to 8 percent are a little tough and pull some lead. Ill probably pull the worst ones and recoat them.

Also finished off 35 more of the 460 mags.

What size is your mold throwing and what size is your sizing die? I size before PC only if needed. then check the dia after PC. I like to run .402-.404 when running cast bullets. My last batch came out .402-.404 without sizing at all. I run 100% lead (free but soft) so I like them slightly oversized to help prevent leading.

graphite polished enough homemade BP to fill my horn (about 1/2 lb). Made up about 100 patches lubed with bore butter. going to give it a shot out of my new model army .44 tomorrow if the range isnt too busy due to the holiday.

Also loaded my last 50 .40 cal brass with 175 gr cast/PC over 4.7 gr of bullseye. A little light for the .40, but Im hoping to reduce some of the snappiness and still reliably cycle the action. If these dont work, Ill step back to a slower powder and try again (already had the bullseye loaded in my hopper from 9mm and was too lazy to change over). Not a big fan of the .40, but I was gifted a baby eagle by my dad and I never get rid of gifted guns!!!!

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy shoot....what a ride!"
