I have friends that think I'm nuts because of my library of reloading manuals, but I just smile everytime they call me about a load they are looking for.

    Sent from around the bend.

Same here. As of now, I have 23 loading manuals on the shelf, spanning the last 40 years.

Not exactly today, but I was gifted a Dillon 550 by my father-in-law. I got it set up in the garage with 9mm dies and have been cranking out some 124 grn 9mm.

    124 grn Ibejiheads
    3.4 grn WST
    1.10x overall length

14 shots average 1100 fps, hi 1110, lo 1095, es 15, std 5 out of a Glock 17 Gen 2 (kinda blew me away)

I tried out my new Hornady primer pocket crimp remover for my lnl press. It works very well assuming I'll take the time to fine tune it, after I finish loading 9mm if I could stop shooting 9mm. It's all I shoot anymore.

Last night I realized at some point in my last 250 rounds of 9mm I ran out of powder in my powder dump. What a rookie mistake.

I tested out weighing a few against known good rounds. Most of my good rounds weigh 180.0+ grains. Most fall between 180.0 and 182.5 I found a few weighing in the 178.4-179.8 range and I found 3 in the 176gr range. The 176s I pulled and they had no powder. I don't know if I trust the 179s as I am using 4.2gr of powder and there's just too much variation in case weights...

Anyone close by have a puller I can borrow for a weekend?

A collet puller is a good thing to have in any case, especially if you have more than a few rounds that need breaking down.

My policy: when in doubt, err to the side of caution. Those questionable rounds would go in a reclamation box to address on a rainy day (no pun intended).

158gr powder coated RFN 9mm. I'm getting about 840 FPS out of these. They're quieter and the recoil is less snappier than a normal 9mm. It's very easy to shoot fast with this round. It feeds like butter through my Taurus 92 and doesn't lead the barrel. For some reason, that Taurus is the only gun I have that absolutely will not shoot lead bullets without leading.

Maybe a bit off, but I unloaded about 10 rounds of 9mm that i previously loaded. They didn't go bang after a couple of hammer strikes - all rounds from a dated box (pro tip). I think the cases were still wet when I loaded them. (I ultrasonic them.) Impatience is your enemy. Every box I load gets a date, powder & load, primer, bullet etc. I had two 50 round boxes of 9mm I loaded on the same day, and both had duds. Things could have been worse, I've never double-charged a case. Just keep your head in the game gents.

Oh - I deprimed, cleaned and sized 100+ 9mm's. Academy had a blowout on 115 grain Rem. FMJ bullets.

    What kind of blowout??

Today I worked a couple more deals to get rid of all the reloading stuff I picked up. I should be getting a few hundred cast 9s and 45s as well as some cash and a set of 357 dies. Not all bad.

And yesterday and the day before I worked on 636 223 cases. Sized and reprimed, ready for powder and bullets.

Anyone have a pet 223 load they like?

What grain bullet? I've loaded a lot of .223's with 55g, 24.7 to 25 g CFE223. I messed around with different OAL's, but that works well for normal lengths.

I've got a load for my AR-15 that works pretty well. It's not benchrest accurate, but it's more than accurate for hunting or plinking. It's a Hornady 55gr SP bullet with IRM4320 powder. I'll see if I can find load data to tell you what charge I used tomorrow.
