You can retract the depriming pin into the sizing die and resize the cases with primer in place, just be careful and remember to readjust the depriming pin when you're done.

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

I guess when I was looking up subsonic loads I came across something saying to never load less than 30% case volume. Maybe the loads you guys mentioned weren't under that 30% mark.

This also may have been for rifle only as I was looking for 7.62x39 load data. It had noted that the charge should burn from the rear forward and if the spark from the primer made it to the front of the case then all of the powder could ignite at once and cause a high pressure spike.

Either way, you guys are obviously not having any trouble. I was just curious.

    Just be cautious.
And, Ben English will tell you, "no such thing as "rifle only"."
    He's got some wicked handguns.

Loaded some .308 rounds for the first time. I'm kinda new to reloading and have only done .223, .22-250, and .45 ACP. I was so excited about not messing any of them up I went out and test fired all of them......now I'm back to where I started. Oh well, I got in some trigger time too!

Made about 100 380acp rounds. With everything already set up from my previous session, it didn't take long at all on the Lee 1000.

You can punch the primers out and reuse them. I just do it slowly.

I am always so paranoid about the decapping rod blowing into my ceiling, I usually just put the primed cases in my gun and fire them. Which usually elicits a response from the squaw.

Do these factory perfecta round fired case primers look odd to you?

Specifically the two on the left

I also noticed that when I was shooting my 586 at the 100 yard steel gong, I was getting shavings stinging the left side of my face.

The cylinder seems to lock up fine when I put my finger on the cylinder and cock the hammer.

Sounds like it is out of time. The cylinder isn't lining up with the barrel.

If the bullet is shaving it could be causing back pressure which could make the primers dimple out. I've seen that in blowback pistols before when the breech starts to open before the bullet is out of the barrel.

That is signs of out of time as dawico said and would also cause the off center primer strikes.

Clean it up and take it to a Smith

Made a wet brass tumbler this week
I haven’t started reloading yet but I have been collecting my brass. I figured I can prep it and have it ready for when I start.
I tried to use scrap materials that were lying around but ended up spending about $50 to get it running smooth. I’m using a mixer as the motor until I find a decent motor on the cheap.

I was able to clean about 1200-1300 pieces of pistol brass (that’s all I had) filling the white bucket about half way. It was about 40lbs (+or-) with the brass, water, and ss media but with the 6.5 to 1 gear ratio the motor wasn’t over-worked.

For smaller amounts, I made an insert with a smaller container that can handle 300-400 pieces of brass.

Interesting tumbler! I think I have enough components in my junk in the shed to build one. I've got some elec. motors, gears, chains, pulleys, buckets, etc. All I'd be lacking at the moment is ................................ effort! :green:

Last night I debated using my last 500 9mm brass to start loading the 200 XTPs I have or buy another 500 HAPs. Decisions, decisions...

I'm also still trying to find the load data for 168gr 7.62x39s. No luck finding the previous link I found though

Loaded some 308 last night. Loading 300 blackout mouse fart loads today. I also mounted my turret racks onto my toolbox.
