You can punch the primers out and reuse them. I just do it slowly.
That sounds more fun than my way!I am always so paranoid about the decapping rod blowing into my ceiling, I usually just put the primed cases in my gun and fire them. Which usually elicits a response from the squaw.
Sounds like it is out of time. The cylinder isn't lining up with the barrel.Do these factory perfecta round fired case primers look odd to you?

I also noticed that when I was shooting my 586 at the 100 yard steel gong, I was getting shavings stinging the left side of my face.
The cylinder seems to lock up fine when I put my finger on the cylinder and cock the hammer.
