Well, after having lost all my reloading gear in Ike, this week I started the long journey to get back into it. Finally found some powder and primers today. Fastened the press and powder charger down. Tumbled I don't know how many spent brass casings. Set up the dies and deprimed a bunch of 9mm brass. Still way more to do.

I just got BAD NEWS today from LOHMAN ARMS that the 30 Remington Brass they had listed IN STOCK on the website was actually OUT-OF-STOCK and got the obligatory phonecall advising me of this.

    http://www.lohmanarms.com/product-p/ju30rem.htm

I wish the 6.8 SPC Remington was NOT shortened .30 Remington to create it. I wish I could just expand the neck and load .30 instead of 6.8 SPC. (wish in one hand and $h!t in the other????)

    I'm OK now.................carry on.

I loaded 50 rounds of 69gr SMK's last night for an OCW test. I'm using 3031 since it's for my SBR.

Loaded 60 rounds of .338 LM. Loaded 200 rounds of .243AI. Both my recipes call for H1000

What bullet and powder charge for the .338?

I just shot all my test loads for my .338 Lapua yesterday and am ready to get a bunch loaded for long range shooting.

I am getting very good results with H1000.

    Been case prepping all day.
.223, some crimped primer, mostly not crimped.
    Over half way done priming.
Marathon charging and bullet seating tomorrow.
If the shit don't hit the fan, I might not load another .223 this year.

I take it the priming went smoothly after the swaging?

The best results I've seen out of my Savage are with the following load:

    C.O.L.: 3.74"
    Brass: Nosler
    Primer: Winchester WLRM
Bullet: Berger 300 GR Match Hybrid OTM
    Powder: 88.5 gr H1000

Thank you. I haven't gotten around to trying any Berger bullets yet. My loads for 285 gr Amaxes and 300 gr SMKs are very close to that though. I figured I would be close if I tried loading some better hunting bullets.

Yesterday I about lost my dadgummed religion!

im cleaning up/out my warehouse and I found several thousand LC 308 once fired cases. I dutifully ran them through my tumbler(10 hrs with corn media)to get them pretty then went to 10Ring to buy ad ecapping die which I then took home and bent the thing. I found my other Lee decapper and promptly got it to pop out(as the other one did twice before I finally bent the pin!).

my shooting buddy suggested I get the Lee one that you smack with a hammer.
has anyone dealt with tough to deprime LC brass?

    thanks

are you sure the cases aren't Berdan primers?
LC should be Boxer type but you never know these days.
.mil cases can be a pain to deprime. Buy extra decap pins.
The old school method of a long punch and hammer works well.

Harder compared to 5.56. Never had too much of a problem on my Dillon with universal decap die.
