I'm 68 and my bod is going on 98. Dad died at 85 5yrs ago. Mom is 95 and still sharp. Wife has dementia and her dad died of Alzheimer's. Still have all my friends and other relatives, but my wife at 78 has lost a few.

Have given away 6 guns in the last few years. Looking forward to the delight of seeing my kids and grandkids shoot a few more of my guns. One of my grand-daughters is 10 and shoots one of my full size .45ACP. :)

Not looking forward to where the country is going. Will be glad to be gone and looking down (probably up) and SMH.

When I was younger, I was more concerned with doing as much as possible as often as possible to have fun. And I bounced right back. Now I go thud. And lay there a while.

    The upside to getting old?

I have learned that it is much more important to get, or give, the maximum amount of fun or pleasure when you do something, not how often you get to.

To be honest, at 58 I’m probably already on bonus time. I truly used to laugh at the thought of getting old. I ran HARD for many decades. My body bares all the scares of those choices but I have flat had a fucking blast so far and intend to enjoy life as long as possible.

But like many, my “check engine” light popped on a few years back and now I’m dealing with many self imposed issues (from my own choices.) So be it, I refuse to sacrifice living for the safety of existence.

It’s a fact that getting old ain’t for pussies.

For me it is my tolerance of bullshit is absolutely nonexistent anymore.
2020 and the petty tyranny it gave birth to, and the mindless sheep that have blindly followed erased any trace of my tolerance for it.
    ^^^^This!^^^^

I use to have more of a tolerance of commies because they weren't in our country, but over the last several years, they seem to have a more pronounced presence, and have become way more vocal in trying to trash this great country. So my tolerance has reached a point to where there isn't any tolerance of commies or socialists, or Marxists, or fascists. Run every one of those America hating POS scum out of this country!
