Day 6 and thank Heaven for the rain and clouds the last 2 days, we have light rain now and will have most of the day. The clouds and cool breeze have been a blessing.

I just tried to go to centerpoint outage tracker, got a 404.

I'm pissed but it is now nearly comical, too. Outage map shows 11 customers in my county still waiting

Power came back on yesterday, I'd guess about 4pm. Don't know exactly; spent the whole day looking for excuses to ferry sis from one air-conditioned location to another.

Side note about that - The new movie Fly Me To The Moon is an inconsequential bit of fluff but if you were a huge space nerd in the 1960s, it's worth watching.

- A neighbor at the end of my power line had a tree removed just last week leaving her only one massive pine and you'll never guess where it fell. Yep, right between the last two poles, fortunately missing our 'hood owned wastewater plant. Since that line affects 10 homes max, we may be near the bottom for service restoration.

A neighbor spoke with an assessment crew prior to today and that is in fact what happened. A tree crew arrived 45min ago and a Coop p/u soon after. I just got home after my Friday so I'm gonna snooze a bit before I go supervise.

Neighbor tells me that there are several service trucks in the neighborhood within a couple of blocks where the downed poles are. I didn’t know there were any. Hopefully they can get us power soon.

They actually started on our subdivision mid-morning today. Of course on the side furthest away.

Last time this happened, it took about 48 hours, maybe a bit longer, to get the entire neighborhood powered, once they started.

That's good news finally. Longest I've been without power is 8 hrs during Harvey. I can't imagine how miserable nearly a week must be.
