[rant] Bud Lite, Tractor Supply, John Deere, Harley Davidson, now Jack Daniels. Who next? I'm certain there are many others. Why do these seemingly "decent" American-as-apple-pie companies that folks like us frequent embrace DEI policies? These companies have entire PR/Marketing staffs that study their clientele and the market...yet they still embrace woke DEI stategies. It's as if they just don't understand who their customers are (us), or perhaps they don't give a flying flip about them (us). I just don't get it. It has cost some of these companies BILLIONS in lost revenue. It's good that these mentioned finally recognize their poor decisions and abandon DEI, but they only do so when they're called out. They're reputation is shot as far as I'm concerned. It will take a strong reversal and vocal criticism of DEI policies before I give them my business again. Again I say, I don't get it. I ask you, WHY do they do this? [/rant]

    Several possible causes.

    Executive management thinks it will make them more popular with the majority of their customers. {This has been backfiring as of late.}

Employees are woke and management gives in to appease the employees.

Executive management is liberal leftwing and woke. They believe in DEI.

Or a combination of the above.

    Like anything, follow the money.

Yes, they're losing customers and money on that end but ultimately they're already bought and paid for by our government and the New World Order.

Big investment firms create the bridge between our government and this DEI/ woke shit.

Think about the ultimate goal. Ruining our society and creating a class that's dependent on the .gov is the long play. Money and power.

So you don't shop at this store because of the woke shit? They own the other store too. They don't lose customers or money on this. It just comes in the other pocket.

    1) Many really are woke all along and embrace this stuff.

    2) Some are scared of backlash if they do not join the woke bandwagon.

What so many companies FAIL to understand is 99% of people who criticize them for policy (as opposed to product deficiency reasons), have never and will never buy their products even if the change to everything they want. This is a leadership failure.

Not really true. Many have taken a real financial hit. Many know it is short term though, knowing customers will come back. Kid Rock and Bud Light for example.

We, as a country would be better off firing each, and every HR person that was hired just for that position, with just that background.
Should be filled by a long, established employee, without any obvious mental illness issues, like transgenderism
Have seen good companies ruined by 'Professional' HR staff.

Yes, big finance has a lot to do with 'dei' being forced onto the consumer, but going to the 'core' people...who actually instituted 'dei', wtf is up with them?

Yes, they're 'marxists', but why so much 'out and out' perversion foisted onto the public?

    WHY?

Are they a cabal of raging perverts who sneer and laugh at us 'normals' with dei acting as some sort of vengeance tool to get back at us, because as children they were bullied due to their queerness or some other weirdo character flaw?

An idea takes hold. It doesn't matter how or who pushes it. Ideas have a life of their own. People believe the idea and try to implement it. Illogical results result. Over time, people figure out they were wrong and reverse course. Thus has it always been.

    Recent examples?

An idea took hold that the future was all green-source electricity, for whatever definition of green you like. This leads to people installing green tech all over the place, even in places where it made no sense. This leads to people buying electric cars because they're the future. Big companies slow their investment in developing better or finding more fossil fuels.

All that happened. A couple of decades later, experiential data begins to exert influence through the pain that inevitably comes from doing illogical things. Big companies walk back their electric vehicle production. Even regular folks realize that the ROI on solar water heaters in places where the sun doesn't shine will never happen. Balance begins to be restored, as we're seeing right now.

In the Middle Ages there was a cycle where people got the idea that rats were industrious, admirable creatures that mirrored the virtues God wants everyone to have. Rats were allowed to flourish. The bubonic plague was a big enough downside that people eventually abandoned the whole rats == virtue idea.

I wrote a post on here a while back that said in 50 years we'll look back on teaching kids that they could be a boy one day, a girl the next, and switch back and forth was a stupid idea and that certain more traditionally-minded cultures would be laughing at us until then. I stand by that.

Ideas get into the air and become objects of religious faith. It takes a while to correct course, usually after the harsh realities of life have started punching people in the face. I don't think that pattern will ever change.

    I work for one

    14 months until retirement

Can’t wait and I’ll begin the full-on lambasting of that place the day I leave

People need to know how much money is wasted on this BS and how the customers end up paying for it all

The shareholders are betrayed by misguided destructive “management”.

The primary duties of all corporate management are: 1) Conservation of Capital & 2) Make a PROFIT !
