I was about 12 years old and bought with my mowing money a second hand Sears 22 single shot. No I don't still have it.
Wish I still had mine, can’t recall what happened to it. Last I recall seeing it was when a rotated back to the States from a remote tour in Korea 1983. We had to process through Customs when we landed in Kansas City. I had the 22, a remington 30-06, and a 12ga shotgun in a foamlined wood box I built. Customs guy made meApache Black Remington Nylon 66 purchased way, way before age 21. I walked into the Gibson's Discount Store, handed them my money, and they handed me that beautiful rifle. Still have it, still shoot it, and it is still my favorite rifle purchase (now worth about 5 times what I paid for it, although I will never part with it): View attachment 413475
Those were neat rifles. Had some buddies that bought them and a pistol version. We did have to do some tweaking to them. Never did test if they floated. My was a Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer. Paid $99.00 plus tax, brand new! I was 24 and still have it…
A Mosin-Nagant from Big 5. I told my wife that it was a piece of history. After that, I moved on to CMP firearms and now built my own firearm of many types.
What was the first firearm you bought? Were you over or under 21 years old? Do you still have it?
I was under 21, pre 1994 firearm ban, and 30 years later still have it. It’s kind of my go to firearm still.
