    That place east of Waco....
So I was correct, you are a vladolf pootler apologist. Say it loud and proud. This isn't Russia where you can't speak freely.

Look at the refugees, destruction of cities and death caused by pootlers illegal border crossing and you will quickly see not much compares.
From what Biden-level dementia fount did you draw that conclusion from?.....

I'll speak slowly and simply for your benefit......both IMPOTUS and Czar Vlad are incompetent a-holes with delusions of authority that are being bitch-slapped by reality. And Zelensky is a con man who has conned himself into a fight he can't escape, thanks to his cronies like Biden-son.

The real victims here are the Ukrainians who don't want Rus soldiers stomping in their homes.....and the conscripted Rus soldiers who don't want to be in Ukraine getting shot for Czar Vlad's ego preservation. These are the people I support. And, when they figure out how to stop shooting at each other and start shooting the real troublemakers, then things will sort out real quick.

    Clear enough now for you?....

We know from bad experience what happens when religion becomes a topic of discussion.

    Don't start.

    That goes for everybody.

Despite the importance of the titular subject of this thread and despite the work so many members have put into this thread, including me, I will not hesitate to remove it if it devolves into another one of those God vs. god vs. whatever threads that resulted in the change to the rules.

In case anyone needs a reminder about the text of the rule:

    Religion
Discussions on religion are not allowed, as people cannot discuss the subject without behavior on the forum devolving. It also tends to derail threads. All threads concerning religion will be locked and/or deleted.

Rules need to be applied evenly and consistently or they are without value.
I agree. However, "evenly and consistently" =/= "thoughtlessly and mechanically". There will still be judgement calls that must be made.

    For example...
...you better remove EVERY post that mentions anything involving religion from here on out or...
    ...is just a silly standard.

If someone says "Thank God, I was finally able to find that ammo I've been looking for!" then they have mentioned something involving religion. They acknowledged the existence of whatever God they worship. However, they didn't make a statement about God or religion; the post was about something else entirely with only a passing reference to the concept of a deity.

I wouldn't remove such a post. It doesn't violate the rules.

If someone says "Self-defense is a natural right" no one will take offense. If someone says "Self-defense is a God-given right", they're edging closer to a rule violation but they're nowhere near the line. Most people understand "God-given right" and "natural right" to be the same thing. The poster could use their statement to launch into a full-throated sermon espousing their religious viewpoint, I suppose. If they did that, the post would be removed. But a passing mention of the concept in those terms isn't a rule violation.

I wouldn't remove the post. It doesn't violate the rules.

Judgements will always be made in every case.

    And by the way...

...I will report it so much you have to ban me from the forum.
...members don't get banned for filing reports. We value those members because they help us nip problems in the bud.

I wouldn't mind seeing more reports from you. Not at all.

Now I'm going to take a few minutes to go back to the point where this thread started a religious conversation and delete all those posts. Everyone who has a post deleted should be able to figure out why based on this post and the one I made before it.

I really hope that gets this valuable thread back on track.

But discussing porn is okay (as I believe you have done in the past, if I am not mistaken)?

Your moderating was heavy handed here. The discussion was civil, and was - at the root - about morals and relativism. And it had also come to an end as I indicated in the post you deleted.

I agree with DP that consistency seems to be lacking.

Enough said. Delete this as well if such is your whim.

I freely acknowledge that you may be right.

I felt I was acting quickly and decisively to keep a valuable thread from flying apart. But I can't always be sure of my judgement.

I have asked the rest of the staff to review what I've done and if they agree with you I will restore the deleted posts and apologize.

Full list of US & European weapons and military equipment delivered to Ukraine

Quite impressive as you read though the details of it all. Looks like Ukraine has the most diverse amount of military equipment of any country in the world at the moment.

The real question is whether they have enough training and experience with the equipment to utilize it properly.

Very interesting take on the situation for a former NATO & UN official …

Article at the link, plus The Hill video discussing it.

Kinda paints a whole different picture from the one our government has tried to paint...

I haven't read the article yet, but I have downloaded it to read... The view from the video is the one I've had from the beginning.

    Thanks for this!

Total everything up, and the quantities are pretty significant.

Announced weapon delivery is different from actual delivery.
As for the Baud post, BS. He was paid to train. Never thought French were good fighters after waterloo - or even then.
Rus Sec stated in 2014 Putin wanted all of Ukraine. I don't trust NATO, Russia could have been stopped taking Crimea if Obuumer wanted but he didn't care. Neither did NATO. As for the treat of NATO to Russia, why? No real threat to peaceful neighbor Govs. If Ru was playing nice, why Syria, Georgia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc? Why China/Solomon Is deal?
All the weapons and $ going there? Where? How? Sounds like a garage sale of old arms. When is the last time the US made 155 cannon? Brit said they gave harpoon but U said they didn't get them. S300s didn't work. More posturing by the west.

My position is that We the People should be able to see & hear whatever information is available, so that we could better decide what to believe.

I have never taken the side of Putin.

Why are our government & media so unwilling to allow information to be published ? I can't think of a single legitimate reason, could you ?

    leVieux
Seems that there are lots of people who are willing to inflict putins will on the subjects of russia.

As long as your attention is focused on Ukraine, it doesn't matter if it's fact or fiction.
Putin wants nothing more than people around the world to ignore the carnage he has caused in Ukraine.

People are smart enough to follow many different current events. Being ignorant to what's going on in Ukraine is a mistake.
