Yup. NATO and the west is such a threat that Russia has to demonstrate it’s might by invading a former satellite.

Russia’s economy is smaller than Canada’s; and their shît is shît. The only thing the West cares about re: Russia is their ability to keep nuclear weapons & technology off the black market.

And we don't even KNOW that they haven't sold some of those weapons or enriched radioactive materials to someone already. They probably have, multiple times.

Am I crazy to worry that Biden (and, more accurately, his handlers) will overreact to one of Putin's moves resulting in a serious escalation? We mostly had strong Presidents during the Cold War so it was not much of a concern but with Biden potatohead

Its understandable why Russia took a few days to gain air superiority because of this fact.

They still don't have air superiority. The Ukrainians are still sending what fighters they have up, and there's still a fight on. Not to mention that a surprising amount of anti-aircraft defenses are still being employed against the Russians.

When this Su-27 returned home yesterday after a few days in Romania, it was met at the border by two Ukrainian fighters and escorted back to base. If Russia had air superiority, it wouldn't have been friendly fighters meeting it.

I have not seen any evidence Ukraine is flying any manned aircraft since first few days.

I've seen evidence of Russian aircraft being shot down. Whether by other aircraft or by missiles, that's a sign that they do not own the skies. Plus, those Turkish drones they're using aren't small. if they can operate with relative impunity, then Russia does not have air superiority.

Russkies are not flying much either. It is like both sides are afraid to go up and engage.

There was a lot of activity in first few days but now not much at all

Well there sure are alot of Russian columns on the move to Kiev and elsewhere not being hit from the air. In the areas of operation, the Ukrainian air force is not present enough to make a difference. They dont have any anti-air near the cities that the Russians have encircled or if they do they aren't using it at all. I havent seen any videos in the past day or so to corroborate that the Ukrainians are doing anything but falling back and digging in to the cities for urban warfare which is just prolonging the inevitable. Russia hit their military infrastructure hard and its showing. The fact that the first defensible fronts that the Ukrainians have been able to put up are around cities is showing that their military was either unprepared for the 150000 - 190000 man army amassing at their border or is inept compared to their opposition.

Once again, I only know what I see on Telegram from people on the ground, not from western media. I take what I see with a grain of salt but everything I am seeing is that the Russian army along with the LPR and DPR are advancing while the Ukrainians are retreating to cities.

Also from that article: "The Romanian Ministry of Defense first issued a statement on February 24 that said the Su-27 was escorted by two Romanian Air Force F-16s after it entered Romanian national airspace on “an unauthorized flight.” The F-16s escorted the aircraft to Romanian Air Force 95th Air Base in Bacău."

Sounds like he was fleeing from somewhere or perhaps tried to return to an airbase that was getting bombarded, why else would he fly to Romania and possibly drag NATO into war?

Thanks for that. I certainly don't see on the MSM about the fall of Kherson and the fact that the door is now open to Odessa. From other (IMO reasonably trustworthy) sources, I've heard that Kharkiv is proving more problematic than the Russians expected so they've changed tactics and they're just levelling the city.

A Russian tycoon put 1 Million Bounty on Putin.

I was talking to someone today and we sorta agreed that this would be the only way the invasion could stop reasonably quickly. If someone doesn't whack Putin (physically or politically) Ukraine is in for a long slog.
