While you are generally correct about "protections", protections was not the statement I repiled to, rights was.

There are lots of examples of unequal treatment under the law. How about the rich white kids that skate on their DUI or drug bust because daddy is rich and has pull? It can, but doesn't always, cut both ways.

I guess OJ skates real good too then. The difference is rich kids may get off by pleading affluenza, but at least they were charged. I'm talking about charges that are never brought or dropped against minorities such as King Shaboo Shazam (sp) who's voter intimidation charges were dropped for no other reason than he was Black.

Not a "Right" in the strict sense of the word but Gays and minorities definitely have more "protections" than Straight White Christian Conservatives. When was the last time a Black was charged with a Hate crime? The victims of the Knock-out game are overwhelmingly White yet to date the only perpetrator of that crime charged with a Hate crime has been White. The Christian owners of the bakery that refused to bake a wedding cake will suffer the full weight of an oppressive politically correct government should they refuse. No Progressive organizations were targeted by the IRS. So yes, in the strict sense of the word Gays, et al have no more constitutionally iterated "Rights" than anyone else, but in reality you'd have to be wilfully blind to not admit they get more "protections".

As for OTC, I respect that they don't sugar coat it. While Target is trying to appease everyone, OTC sounds intellectually honest at least. The truth is a mom shopping at Target in most mid to large cities doesn't want to see a guy with an AK47 on his back. It's frightening to a lot of people. OC might be great for small towns but it would cause a panic to see this kind of thing in a large metro area. Allowing open carry without knowing they've had any training or any checks on their possible criminal history is just not smart.

Blacks are seven times more likely to go to prison, Hispanics three times, and the reason is clear, because from 1980 to 2003 the US incarceration rate has tripled, and so proves that Justice is not only hard won, but well served.

Have you read his book? I haven't. But I will note that anybody can write a book and make accusations. It is easy to do and the bookstores are full of them. Lots of books of space aliens also, but no real proof.

Fine, then you referenced it wrong. It specifically disallows open carry of long guns like OCT is doing.

Nope. It allows the TABC to cancel a license after notice and hearing if a permittee knowingly allowed possession... with a few exceptions.

One of those exceptions is that the person has a CHL and is carrying a covered handgun. That doesn't require anything like their statement.
