The 92 compact variants "feel" like they'd be heavy but they actually carry very nice.

I'd add a CZ 75C to that category.

While you’re trying out guns at the range, don’t miss the S&W M&P 2.0. I’ve found it to be easy to shoot and failure free.

The M&P Custom Shops are the way to go if go with Smiths. They feel really great in the hand & the trigger is pretty damn good out the box.

If they just gave it a bit more grip texture, it'd be near perfect. It cant replace the 92, but it carries a lot nicer

Not as bad as people make it out to be.

Having owned several in the past, I was strictly speaking from my own personal observations. I was not gifted with large hands, but I do have long fingers, so gripping them for me still seems like a holding a 2x4 in my hand.

Try some thin grips, or try a vertec frame. I wear medium gloves. All I need is an extended magazine release.

Don't have any more of them, and as much as I like 92F's, I prefer the 1911 platform much better.

Never had any issue with the controls, just happen to prefer the 1911. Just seems to fit my hand a bit better.

I, too, have no issues with 92 controls. I’m a 45AARP (apologies to toddnjoyce) fan though.

not a good choice for a first gun imho. shoots verrrry nice, but aftermarket is nonexistent, Beretta has stopped (or heavily limited) exporting guns and parts for a while now...the PX4 is sort of like the Steyr pistols...great guns, great ergos, absolute garbage support and scarce parts.
