That shouldn't happen with proper belt selection. Hip grips and variations thereof require a much narrower belt that tends to lock the revolver into position by putting the cylinder fully below the tightened belt.Or worse, you get your wallet out and (as the gun is just 'hooked' over belt) it drops to the floor.
That's hard to achieve. It's impossible with most combinations of firearm and belt. But it's what you strive for when you use a revolver grip designed to formalize what used to be called Mexican carry.
BTW, I'm also a believer in keeping/getting your LTC for reasons I've stated elsewhere.
