They operated yesterday and had me try to stand up. If I had been able to stand without falling, I would have throat punched the therapist. My hip was dislocated and the femur was broken just below the ball joint.

About 5 pm they had me stand for about 30 seconds.. it was all I coul take. Also the morphine makes me constipated. I have to fart and poop before I can get out of here. Rangers won tonight.

No fair peeking at the answer.

It was I. I tripped and fell in the hallway whe attempting to go take a shower for a party. Naturally I landed where I couldn't crawl any where like to my phone which was 15 feet away. The wife (you may have a wife but I've got the wife) was in her shower so 911 couldn't be called for about an hour. I donwant to say the wife moves slow but it takes her an hour and a half to watch 60 minutes.

The whambulance showed up at 5 ish and I fell at 3:30 ish. You know somethings wrong when the EMTs know your name a knickname.

So it's 7:30 am and waiting on the quacks to come see me and plan for surgery. I've been living on morphine and Norco for pain. Awake all night counting flowers on the wall an solitaire till dawn.

I almost forgot, the EMTs had me on fentynal at first.

The physical therapy after surgery is painful but controls the speed of recovery.

    Try to tough it out!

    Good Luck!

Yes the therapist will get you going faster. Brother had both knees replaced at the same time, his therapist was key in getting him moving again.

    Go Rangers!!

I have to fart and poop before I can get out of here.
So, do the dr's make rounds, check your chart, and say... ok, this one has to fart... hold out your finger, let me pull it?

Does your fart have to be witnessed, or do they take your word for it?

Nurse comes in, takes a whiff.... ah! Ok, now you just have to poop!

Seriously... I hope the pain lessens quickly. My mom went through that about 10 years ago... we saw the x-rays... femur broken just below the socket. The dr that put the bone back in place did a phenomenal job... the post x-ray, we had to strain to even see the line where the break had been... prayers ongoing...

Another reason to have your cell phone on your person at all times. Or at least a smart watch that can make outgoing/emergency calls. Mom lives alone and while doing some yardwork tripped and fell onto the grass tearing a tendon in her shoulder over the weeknd. Her Apple iWatch detected a fall, she cancelled the emergency fall detect/call 911 notice and went to the doctor to discover the damage inside.

I've heard urban legends of guys going to the basement to change a water heater or changing the oil under their truck and get pinned for hours or days all because they left their phone on the counter 10 feet away but being pinned under a mass meant they simply couldn't get to their phone to call for help. I can't imagine being elderly and breaking a hip then being stuck on the floor for hours or days.

If any of you want to stop by and laugh at this fool, I'm in cell A413 in the Plano Medical City hospital on Coit and 15th.

They don't know where my next stop on the patient's inmate tour of local asylum. There's a rehab at Frankford and Independence and skilled nursing on Plano Pkway just west of Independence. Maybe the Garland VA would work. I think it's supposed to be orthopedic based.

I'll be at your current location on the 17th for two stents in my heart. Take care and get well soon. Remember once they transfer you, you are getting the best care possible at this time. Your rehab specialists are only doing their job. You may have a love/hate relationship with them personally but believe me they aren't trying to inflict pain, only doing their job.

Well here is the Friday results.
Therapy sessions zero. For the week 3, all before noon on Wednesday. Consults with whoever is planning my therapy zero.

Progress made, some because I keep trying on my own. Finest care my ass. Minimal care. I get along great with the nurses but they aren't the therapists.

I can't raise my right foot off the bed more than an inch or two. Can't raise my knee or bend it much. Takes 45 minutes to roll over. Any therapy has been by me working alone.

The menu they gave me says it's carb balanced. Don't get the honestly meatloaf because it must be from the home for the. Criminally insane.

The orange sherbet is good. The coffee sucks.
