“I’m putting that guy in my crosshairs” is not violent rhetoric. “I’ve got him in my crosshairs” can mean you are gonna get someone fired, beat them at a race, or any other variety of doing better of defeating someone.

Hell, I’ve said the same before. This is ridiculous. It’s just an idiom meaning someone is your target. Not that you intend to literally shoot them.

The phrase used was "It's time to put Trump in the crosshairs". That is absolutely incitement, and I can't believe you're working this hard to give Brandon a pass. It would absolutely be seen as permission from POTUS for some unhinged 20 year old leftist who wanted to "make a difference".

Somebody being a dumbass doesn’t change anything. No reasonable person read that and thought “shit, better get my gun ready”. I doubt this unhinged 20 year old even saw the post. Just like nobody here cared about it until someone dug it up after yesterdays attack.

I’m “working hard” to defend common sense. I’m not going to let my opinion of some decrepit old jackass cloud my judgment concerning common language. When someone does that, I put them in my crosshairs.

(Let’s see if I catch a ban for threatening a forum member)

The building was identified as a prime threat days in advance.

He wasn't traveling. He was standing at a podium. That building didn't move.
Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. We really don't know. This is all third hand information from the media. I don't trust any of it. I've escorted him and met him on several occasions. I can't stand to see the internet detectives and bloggers nitpick everything into some conspiracy after the fact. I'll rather talk to people i know here that help to coordinate his advances than rely on what I read online.

I could say more, not every location has access to the same resources. When Trump comes to Houston he gets a lot more resources dedicated to his security than he would in BFE. Those resources come from assets that local agencies have, it doesn't come from the Secret Service.

Careful, some people here don’t like that kind of talk.

We're not talking about reasonable people, we're talking about unhinged liberals. And you don't think some 20 year old hard left psycho wasn't checking the POTUS Twitter feed religiously?

It's interesting that you agree that all of the other hateful and violent rhetoric from the Dems could absolutely have contributed, but you have trouble imagining that this one example from the social media group that directly represents the memory-care-patient-in-chief could have, to the point of calling it ridiculous. That's some impressive mental gymnastics.

I knew there would be some crap for brain libs who would make statements about wishing the guy wouldn’t have missed. But I heard it from someone close to me, who I know is a liberal, but I honestly didn’t think the hatred for Trump was on that level. Regardless of politics, Donald Trump is a husband and father, and I hope I am a decent enough of a person, that I would never say anything that sickening about anyone, regardless of my personal feelings about their beliefs.

At the end of the day, a 20 year old got within 150 yards of Trump and put a bullet 1" away from his brain.

Thats a failure. Nobody is nitpicking. Its glaringly obvious to even the most uninformed retard (and i'm speaking from experience here) that this shouldn't have happened.

If anyone wants to pull the "I'm a professional!" Card? Then they need to act like it. Not act like a teenager didn't just get within an inch of causing irreparable harm to this country.

There were a lot of buildings to cover. I counted over 30.

I know we like to think technology can solve all our problems, but this really just needed some old-fashioned man your post assignments.

Interoperability of radio communications between Federal and local:

In 2001, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) established the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) as the new recommendation for encryption for all federal departments and agencies. AES-256 is the standard encryption for P25 voice communications and is the only approved encryption algorithm for federal SBU communications.

Federal funding was granted to local Police/Fire to allow for upgrades. Citizens can no longer monitor Police Radio on Bearcat scanners.

These are the agencies in Pennsylvania that use the AES P25 256-bit encrypted radios
TLDR; there is a system in place to communicate about the nutjob on the roof

Or the several folks claiming FJB could order action such as this because of "Presidential immunity"

I am not talking a Predator UAV..
I know; a DJI or similar-sized device. Even then, there’s still a variety of issues that can affect policy and/or present legal issues.

…Whether President or former President has no bearing on the fact this was not a success.
That’s not what I said. What I said was a former president/candidate is a private citizen and a candidate’s campaign rally is not an act of office by a sitting chief executive. That’s fact, and that limits things the government can do.

The alternative is having an incumbent from another party hold a daily campaign rally across the street from your private business and resulting in the government effectively putting you out of business due to the potential for an unspecified threat using your place of business to launch some type of attack against.

    You called it a success

    1. The mission is executive protection and the principal isn’t dead: success.

You can't sit here, having just seen pure luck, divine intervention, whatever you prefer to call it just narrowly save Trump, and seriously call this a success, can you?

This debate should be where the failure happened, not if it happened at all
