Magnolia is dead, no businesses or lights. We still don’t have power. Lights are on all around us but our little area is always the last one in the county.
Agreed. I worked with a large number of them when we lived in WA state. They tended to have large families and the kids were often high achievers. The parents tended to be high achievers, as well. But there's a lot to admire about them, too.
The problem isn’t usually that the trees are too close to the lines to safely trim, it’s that they don’t want to spend the money to trim them.Problem with that is, 99% of people aren't going anywhere near 14,000volts to trim a tree.
Third edit- As I initially said, there is 100% no chance of pay disagreements. There are UNFOUNDED rumors that linemen are holding off working to negotiate pay.
I am sincerely very sorry that some of y'all are still waiting for service restoration. But, with your permission, could we send the Cali boys packing?ETA- Also heard Cali lineman are wanting their $150/Hr
I'd be hesitant to go without perdiem.I can no longer state that this is 100% untrue.
I’m hearing rumors they may not be wanting to pay per diem and/or lodging…

I edited again after calling someone in the knowI'd be hesitant to go without perdiem.
I'd be ashamed to ask for $150 an hour.
I hate it for all y'all without power, but that's highway robbery. That you'll pay for in higher rates.
Tough spot to be in.
When the splices run out, and there's a half mile of line with broken conductor because of fallen trees, there's not much a crew can do but clear debris and get the poles ready for new wire.Three bucket trucks right outside my house.
Talked to them and the foreman claimed it might be 5 days.
