30 Super Carry vs. 9mm

I'll always keep a 1911 or 2 around. But for edc and competition, I kinda like my little plastic 9mm Smith. Like winning at pool with a house cue, out shooting guys with $1500 guns, with a $350 one is always a hoot.

While the 1911s are in the safe, a Shield Plus or P938 is my usual carry.

I love my shield plus. I shot a season of steel challenge with it back in illinois. It helps that it fits my small hands well. But as a crappy C class shooter before, I retained that crappy C classification with the smaller gun. Might as well train with what you carry...

1911’s are one of the very few artifacts which have escaped obsolescence.

Their demise has been predicted repeatedly, only to be wrong every time.

Yet, we carry GLOCKS & revolvers. . . . . . . . .

Once in a while, I still carry a 1911. But, cocked & locked, w/ thumb safety engaged.

A Glock is a tool, a rather UGLY tool, but it works pretty damn well.
A 1911 in my opinion is a work of art as well as a tool. If I had to choose only 1 gun, it would be a 1911.
