    cbp,

So, you're a gunsmith or own a gun store or...?

    Thanks!
Nope not those occupations. I am talking about gun carrying positions from armed security to current LEO with five more years left. I am just glad I made it to this point. During that time I wanted to be a pilot but that incident changed my life and outlook and decided a new career choice which involved guns.

Oh I forgot lets add I am now teaching youths how to shoot and compete in shotgun sports with future certification to teach rifle from BB to 22 rifle for competitions.

Back in 1971, I believe it was a Spesca or Spesco .38, something cheap like that. Ended up in Pawn Shop for $15

What was the first firearm you bought? Were you over or under 21 years old? Do you still have it?

My pops bought me my first from the base surplus barn, Mossberg US M44 for my eight birthday in 1960. Fast forward 8 years, sold the .22  and had my mom buy me a 20ga 1100 that I later sold to but for a .41mag Blackhawk at 18. PAX

First gun I bought was a new H&R 686 in 1980. It was styled like a single-action revolver but was double/single. 6 shot .22LR with a .22WMR cylinder. Hated the flared grip. Felt like holding an upside down funnel. Trigger was horrible. Heavy & crunchy. I have no idea how accurate it was. I couldn't hit anything. Trigger finger was too tired to finish a 50 round box so I'd switch hands. Replaced it with a .22 Dan Wesson revolver & that was a tack driver! Excellent trigger & sights. I kept it until I got married.

Remington Nylon 66 Comanche. I pumped gas and operated an Esso station by myself 12 hours a day six days a week for 25¢/hr all summer. Didn’t have a driver license, so went crazy at Gulfmart and bought myself a semiautomatic 22 and an Italian racing bike. By the time I turned 14 both were gone.

I was under 21, pre 1994 firearm ban, and 30 years later still have it. It’s kind of my go to firearm still.

In 1965 I purchased a Winchester feather weight Model 70. Yes post '64. I still have it and always will, until I lay my trophies down! If only I had been a year older, LOL ! ! ! I was 18 and out of High School.

I was 21 and bought a .357 Dan Wesson 15-2 with case and all the barrels in '89 when living in Fairbanks, AK. Carried it when fishing, walking the pipeline, hiking, etc... Like an idiot, I sold it when we moved to Germany.

First gun I ever bought was a Marlin model 60 .22 semi-auto rifle when I was 12, back in 1963. Bought it in a grocery store in eastern N.C. I paid for the rifle, my Dad was standing with me when I did it. The store manager only talked with me during the transaction - really tried to make me feel like I was grown. I still have that rifle, and it still shoots fine!!!
