Besides pistol whipping someone with anything else is uncivilizedA plastic gun kills the body.
A 1911 kills the soul.

Hey heyyyyyyyy wash yo handsI reread most of this thread and with all the pros mentioned I’m a little turned on right now. Think I’ll head over to Collectors and finger bang every 1911 they have under glass until asked to leave.
I have a box of nitrile protection…Hey heyyyyyyyy wash yo hands
Most people who talk "shit" about 1911's have never spent any substantial time behind a 1911 to appreciate the genius of the design.
I've pretty much stopped trying to educate 'em.
But, but, but, but, but,.....you really need a CZ75!
are you girls still hung up on that there 1911 when we all know the pinnacle of handgun design was the Browning Hi Power with its 13 round magazines and features that arguably put it 50 years ahead of the 1911? JMB saw the writing on the wall and yet you continue to hold on to a literal boat anchor like its some magic talisman when in reality it is an obsolescent firearm that looks good but in most situations will get out gunned by even the most simple of designs, be it the humble Star Model B (which is arguably better) to the ultra modern sub compacts that do things better than the commander 1911 for half the cost and less of the weight, can you enjoy an antiquated design? yes can you carry it? sure, but is it really the cats meow? not really. and with the advent of modern ballistic projectiles, a 9x19mm is adequate enough for self defense plus you get the capacity over a huge and slow bullet fired from a gun made when 7 rounds was a lot in an age where micro compacts will hold 13+ rounds.
but since we are looking through rose tinted glasses here, the Smith and Wesson 4506 is clearly the pinnacle of .45 Automatic Single Stack handguns and you can carry it with the hammer down as god intended.
He asked why too, not what design improvements have been made in handguns and ammunition since A.D. 1911?Title pretty much sums it up. I'd just like to hear y'all's reasoning or justification for owning one.

Are you just an instigator trying to troll this thread, or just an ordinary jerk who likes to cause disruption everywhere you go on the forum?
Maybe if you actually knew something, the vast majority of those enthusiasts of the 1911, are also enthusiasts of the Hi-Power as well. For that matter actually appreciate many of the designs of John Browning produced over the course of his lifetime.
But the subject matter of the thread wasn't about John Browning's other designs, but the 1911. Feel free to start a thread and discuss it to your heart's content on the Hi-Power, the CZ75 ,or any other firearm for that matter. I seriously doubt anyone would stop you from starting your own discussion threads on other pistols, or even rifles than the 1911, if that is your desire.
But constantly popping back in here trolling this thread, ain't winning you any friends, and is quickly building you the credibility of being a troll, and one that will get you bounced off this forum by the Mods and Admins rather quickly.
Just some friendly and free advice.
