I'm looking for good reasons to own a 1911, what are they?

Title pretty much sums it up. I'd just like to hear y'all's reasoning or justification for owning one.

Boiled down I just like how they point, feel in the hand, and trigger pull.
They’re usually very accurate as well.
Huge aftermarket for parts and accessories.

I love them, but some do not. I have Glocks and like them as well, but a single action semi-auto is what I prefer. Have a Hi-Power in .40 and 9mm, and built a .22LR 1911 to match the mods I made to me .45 ACP, same hammer, trigger, safety, grip safety, etc. Nothing beats a classic!

Not a fan of the 1911 as a shooter. I prefer to get my dose of classic grace and beauty from a nice revolver instead. That said its worth owning a 1911 for the history and aesthetics even if you dont like the way it shoots. Its a beautiful gun and it along with the AR, Garand and a few others are just so inherently American


But if Moonpie ever sells his Chrome 9mm Colt 1911, I will buy it. Its got more chrome than a mexican hoopty but it is one of the best shooting guns I have ever shot

Natural aim. I have never shot any other pistol that had such a natural aim. When I lay the pistol out there, it is where I want it aimed.
Smooth shooting.
Great single action trigger.
Accurate.
Dependable. Other than a brand new Springfield TRP which failed out of the box (wrong parts installed at factory), I have never had a 1911 malfunction.
Excellent defensive round in .45.
Rugged.
Proven through more than a couple of wars.
