    Helotes!
Color me skeptical, but I have a feeling this claimed "search" is all a part of an elaborate plan...

Anytime a "news" outlet uses unnamed sources, I get suspicious. Maybe I am just too used to the Korean media tactic of doing that to add credibility to what essentially ends up being an unsubstantiated rumor or hearsay. Or in lack of any other developments on a hot story, they will make things up just to sell papers.

    Trust, but verify!

Yes, I would be very interested in knowing how they tracked this down.

Also, the linked article seems to indicate that they searched an Odessa-area home but the other thread says it was in Lubbock.

There could be a number of ways to have tracked this down

Simplest would be the SN on the gun.
Go to the first buyer from the FFL and start interviewing people from there.

Also,.the POS's phone could have had text messages where they met up to do the sale, or even PMs on Messager if it was done on Marketplace

We may never be told how they did it, just like why they crushed the mail truck like that

BOS? No BOS? Some of you'll are quite fanatical about it. Pssst, you don't have to buy it if you do not like the terms of the sale.
To each their own, I say. I don’t require one, but then again I don’t sell anymore, either.

By the same token, I won’t accept one or provide my info to anyone to retain except an authorized FFL on a 4473.

When the guy who’s now in the hole said a BOS makes the transfer official, I was curious what he meant by that. But more importantly, by making that statement, he solidified his standing of having a closed mindset.

What you described above is NOT "adjudicated mentally defective". That requires an inter partes hearing before a Court.

Yeah, But there were two court hearings. Frank59 put that together, see post 159.

The hospital manager says that the order
“Falls off” after Dad no longer required treatment and was allowed to go home and not court ordered to follow up. But the language of of 4473 in both the question and the contradicting detailed instructions confuses me. Dad is not a gun person, but I’m interested in the case as an example of what can happen and wondering how the law applies.

Also, when he figures out that I have grandaddy’s old firearms, I’m not sure what info I can tell Dad about if he is now a “prohibited person.” It’s not worth seeing a lawyer about. He probably won’t care, and his wife might not want firearms in the house anyways. It bothers me that they will have no way to defend themselves from intruders, but then I’m not the one who was attacked with a fireplace poker by a psychotic spouse (who had one hell of a reaction to a prescribed medication).

I don't know, it's just day by day right now....
    Article said:
...investigators served a search warrant at the Midland-Odessa area at the home of the private gun seller who sold the weapons used by Seth Ator.
I can see Cam's gettin weary, need to pick up the slack here.

If you finish a 80% lower and latter on decide to sell it there is no problem. The only problem is if you are making them with the intent to sell them.

If the gun was built from an 80% lower there is no SN. Sounds like someone may have been making a few and selling them w/o a license. That's a No-No.

The fact that the other Fudd was employed as a Cop is irrelevant. Unless he meant that since he was a Cop he must be a legal expert and a gun expert, and therefore firearm bills of sale are a good idea. Which obviously is false on two accounts.

Just replying as I read the posts. I stand corrected, he had no reason then to be offended that you suggested he jerked off "Just some" guy. I hear it is not even gay if you both close your eyes. Let's just hope he doesn't have any hang ups about able bodied people parking in handicapped areas.
