Now I will admit in Battlefield 4 a shotgun is great to clear rooms out

BF4 I use a benelli M4 with flechettes and a red dot. BF3 I was more fond of the 870 in the same configuration. They're devastating in a TDM in BF3 in that one map with all the cargo containers and cranes.

I promise you wont like me!
If you live that long. I had to sell some of my long guns.
But i kept the 1911 and the guage.

Interesting, very much on topic, video on the effectiveness of both conventional and non-conventional shotgun ammo:

Well energy is real unlike knockdown power.

I know what you mean though. There is the mathematical energy but how its applied and all the weird stuff that happens in reality, can change things.
Yeah, energy can be misleading as well. A heavy .45 going 1000fps is going to punch a 0.45" size hole right through the target, but a .22 going 2700fps will make a rather large wound channel from the hydrostatic shockwave.

I'll give it a shot, but I can already tell ya at anything over...30 yards, I would not count on my shotgun for anything. I've heard stories of guys getting hits with slugs to take out some random animal, but I don't see how. I know one thing for sure-with the caddy, my red dot was spot on at 100 yards with slugs. For some reason, that last meet I was high at 100 yards with the same slugs. So I need to get that fixed for sure. Either way-I'm game even if it's just to show how superior the AR is at defending your yard.

In home defense' I doubt you will be shooting more than 25'
