It can still be used against you. That's the thing about bills of sale. They will never help you, but then can hurt you. They have hurt people. Gun control is evil, period. No exceptions. You missed the point. A bill of sale is just a piece of paper unless it is notarized.

So Mr Johnson, I see you have a BoS showing you sold this firearm to a known prohibited person.
Hadn’t thought about that angle.Do you have any other BOS Mr Johnson? Why yes, I keep records to protect myself. Here you go. Well Mr Johnson, that is a lot of sales, it seems you are dealing without a license....
And that piece of paper...... Yet it is still used to obtain convictions every day. ...
Still does not show he is a resident. He might as well of showed you his Texas Gun Talk Badge. Law Enforcement IMO is the worst source of knowing current firearms laws.
So he makes them fill out a 4473?Our oldest boy sells a few. He says the biggest danger as in liability for the sellier is selling to a criminal or crazy person. He has a special guvment form he got from his pal at the gun shop where the buyer must show they aint got those kinda probloms and also give a copy of their ID to go along with. Dont sound foolproof but should beat nothing if selling to a stranger.
