The problem with his offshore holdings wasn’t that he was wealthy, it was the dishonesty. He represented himself as being much less wealthy than he really was, and as being someone who wasn’t hiding his money in other countries. He was dishonest with his money, then he got caught, and now we are suddenly supposed to trust that he is honest because there is a proxy war going on?

Please point out one single honest politician on a national level in any country anywhere on this planet.

Please point out any wealthy individual in any country on this planet who doesn't have funds squirreled away in tax havens or offshore accounts.

If THIS is your standard, then no country anywhere (including this one) is worthy of support when they're invaded by a belligerent power.

And that's the part you refuse to acknowledge, BTW, so I'll say it for you again because I know your reading comprehension skills need work - nobody is holding Volodimir Zelensky up as a paragon of virtue. He gets our support because his country was invaded without provocation by his larger, theoretically more powerful neighbor, who also happens to be an adversary of ours. And not only that, this is the second time Russia has invaded them after illegally annexing Crimea in 2014.The "oh but they're so corrupt!" argument is dishonest at best and shows the lack of critical thinking among Putin's fanboys and proxies (such as you) in this country.

    Based on what?

Based on how asking seems to be verboten.

I would say the same of that pos politician as I would say if the pos politicians here. Rarely is there a poor one or one that is not doing substantially better than average.

Ah, so giving money to Ukraine to resist an invasion isn't ok, but funneling literal TRILLIONS into the "build back better" lie is okay, and funding illegals out of FEMA's budget instead of using that money for disaster relief is also okay? And the billions being sent to Iran and the billions that have gone to Hamas and Hezbollah are also okay?

    Because that's what this implies.

Yeah... that's exactly what it says.

Considering that you copy/paste it into almost every discussion you participate in, no matter how irrelevant it is (and often with the exact same wording), yes, I'm quite familiar with it. If only you were familiar with the historical consequences both in blood and treasure of isolationist policies like what you copy/paste your support of.

And the question is - who cares? So Z is weathy or not. He is trying to fend off Ru. A situation WE set up.

A situation the memory care patient-in-chief gave tacit approval to, even. The Dems thought they were so fucking clever getting a puppet installed in the Oval Office, then they kept letting him do his own thing and create messes. Then again, after Obama stepped back and let them annex Crimea, it's not surprising they'd leap on the opportunity another weak Dem presented them.

A quick reminder for the isolationists:

Obama: Russia annexes Crimea and sends massive support to Syria, including Wagner "mercenaries" who begin to directly harass US troops in the area. Meanwhile the "Islamic State" flourishes, raping and murdering their way across Iraq and Syria. Russia also forcefully annexes Georgia, which had previously declared its independence on the dissolution of the USSR.

Trump: Russia tries to escalate their campaign of harassment in Syria, culminating in a direct attack on an 82nd Airborne position. The end result is 300+ dead Russians. Putin makes no moves on any of his neighbors during Trump's term. Peace begins to break out in the middle east, including treaties between Israel and Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and the UAE. Trump's bellicose statements about pulling out of NATO if other partners don't stop shirking their responsibilities lead to increased defense spending in numerous European countries and to those countries meeting their NATO obligations for the first time in years - decades in some cases.

Biden: Russia invades Ukraine and begins actively attacking unmanned surveillance aircraft over the Black Sea, Russia threatens nuclear attacks multiple times while playing the victim over their belligerent actions, China takes more aggressive actions toward Taiwan and builds its navy to unprecedented levels.

The improvements under Trump were not because of isolationism. They were because he acted from a position of strength and whipped our allies into stronger stances themselves. Saying "it's their problem, we don't need to meddle" has historically gotten us caught with our pants down for two major world conflicts and numerous smaller conflicts. All the talk of "plundering treasure" ignores the fact that when we don't stay involved, we lose thousands upon thousands of young American lives because we convinced ourselves we didn't need to be able to respond.
