Tonight we had Rib-eye steak with candy onions, cucumber and onion salad with home made vinegarette. Desert was watermelon and mandrian oranges.. Thom Thumb has ribe-eyes on sale for under $6 a pound, bone in. Seasoned with coarse black pepper, kosher salt and Kinder's buttery steakhouse seasoning. Cooked on the sear burner for about 4 minutes per side. Steaks are large enough for two people for two nights. Candy onion recipe is slice an onion thinly, put in fry pan with lots of butter. When you think you have enough butter, add that amount again. Season with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper. Cook for about 30 minutes in covered pan and stir every five minutes. My grand-nieces call it candy onions because it is sticky and oh so sweet.
