Unloaded about 40 rounds of .243 my rifle didn't like. Powder was incinerated, bullets cast down range in disgust.

    Gunz are icky.
Broke the decapping pin in the .45 Long Colt die.
Because the farking shell guide won't fit correctly in the press.
Turns out the press has an out of spec recess where the shell guide screws into. Arrrrr!
    Will call Lyman on Monday.

Went full-anal. Loaded up my first batches of 6.5 Grendel. The Grendel Hoarde is pretty good at putting up their precision loads, so I tried my best to copy a couple of them to see what shoot the best out of my rifle. IMR8208XBR behind a 123g AMax in once fired Hornady cases. I now understand why people want a trickler. A tenth of a grain low on a charge, I stick my fingers in the powder hopper, grab a few granules of powder, drop them in and re-weigh. A tenth of a grain too high, I always dump too much out, dump the case and start over.

20 of one load, 20 of the other, 8 misc leftovers for plinking with weird feel when I loaded the bullets into them etc.

I really need to start casting.

Well I don't really NEED to.
After getting set up with the equipment, 9mm and .40 costs me less than .22 lr at the range (about 7-9 cents a round). I need to order a .45 cal mold and then .45 ACP will be the same way. I do get most of my lead for free, so that helps a bunch.

I get lead at work (100% pb) and powder coat.

here are my figures from my last run

    $39.99 / 1000 CCI small pistol

$27.99 / lb bullseye (should do almost 1500 rnds but I figured 1000).

$5 in powder for powder coating (probably closer to 50 cents).

Most of my stuff comes from bass pro, gander mountain, academy, or the one local gun shop that carries reloading stuff. Any of these places are high on their prices.
