“Shoulder shredder” is what I’d call it

They do make one! Thanks! It's only $39.
Totally worth it imo. You won’t be disappointed by anything from that company. I use their stands as well for my Hornady single stage and Dillon 650

Well I thought I had great load worked up for the 308, changed brass and possibly primers and lost 50 fps. Trying to duplicate Fed GMM. Finally looking over data from yesterday. I finally had a failure to fire on a round I struck twice. First dud I've ever had on LR primers. Overall still a decent group but had some vertical stringing. My ES doubled from previous load. Possible my scope has some shifting too. I can see marks on it.

Time to make a large batch of brass with one primer and start over. I hate to re-zero but I think my groups are suffering from scope shift and velocity drop.

    Takeaways from todays range trip;
    1) That Garmin Xero chronograph is amazing!
    2) 6mm creedmoor just shoots! Got some Berger 115 VLD hunting bullets, and with 3 five shot groups of 3 different charge weights of IMR4350, worst group was .76”.
    3) I hate .308! I have just not had luck getting a decent load worked up! Trying to get something going with Varget and the 178 ELD X bullets. At just under 2500 fps (16” carbon wrapped barrel) it was looking like it wanted to group, but then with .3 grains powder difference, the groups would explode in size!

I know the feeling Cody. Shot my best 308 group ever with some surplus Russian powder(fsp-749) a few tenths more turned it into a scattergun. My 308 likes keeping them around 2500-2550(20") too. At that speed it tightens up nicely. Of course I'm hoarding my Varget but starting to develop with the FSP that I have 24 lbs of. I'll be moving on to 175gr SMKs soon.

I did secure an 8lber of H4350 a while back at a reasonable price but it's put aside for 6.5 Creed load development.

I had this same thing happen with 224 Valkyrie. I sat it aside and am considering using a factory load that I got 3/4" groups from.

I've been working late and Saturdays so haven't been to the garage much. I was having issues with 223 cases crushing. Took apart and cleaned dies and reset them. Still had issues with inconsistent crushing. Finally traced it to the case length being too short and using a lee factory crimp die. The brass must be hitting the underside of the crimp arms. Removes the die and problem solved. Guess these rounds aren't getting crimped.

Cast 75 bullets for 32 Miller Short and 170 for 38-55 lever gun. My God was it hot today! AC could not keep up with the sun, much less the lead pot and heavy gloves. Declared victory and retreated to the living room where it was cooler and enjoyed the rest of the day with my darling bride and our cat. Cooked a killer chuck roast and watched a couple of western movies from when times were simpler and values were part of our culture. It was a good day.

Finished my run of 223s last night using blem FMJs from American reloading. I have about 60 rounds that were crushed or didn't gauge so I started going through those and pulling the bullets and reusing them.

I also saw American reloading had 180gr ELDm bullets for cheap. Always wanted to try that gr in my rifle so bought 500 of them.

The worst part of the process is filling ammo into boxes. I loaded up my 223s into 30x boxes tonight. I have a few stragglers and the bad rounds I have to go through still so should get 2 more boxes done. I'm running out of 223 boxes though so gotta make an order for more of those and some others. Damn things ain't cheap either.

I'll finish off the bad 223 rounds tonight but I gotta get 1 press and scale setup for 6.5g and another press set for 10mm. Then I'll adjust the 223 press for a different bullet. I also remembered I have 1k 7.62x39 prepped and ready so they're on deck as well after I finish the next batch of 223s.

Just load them into magazines and save yourself a step. If I ran out of boxes, think I would.

Old factory Hornaday factory shooter told me Federal used H322 in their factory match rounds. H322, Fed 215 primers and RP brass was a tack driver for me.

Not exactly reloading, but I’ll call it “reloading adjacent”! I ordered 500 factory second 175 grain SMK for my .308. I had a box of factory Federal Gold Medal Match with the 175 SMK, so I went to the range to see how my rifle liked them. WOW! Shot a group of 5 that was one ragged hole. Ended up shooting 2 more 5 shot groups with the same results. Hope I can replicate these!

Reloaded one box of Rem Nitro .410 with LilGun and reclaimed shot.
Primed 75 more Rem .410 hulls to reload tomorrow.
Remington.410 hulls don’t reprime well in my MEC Grabber so I have to use a 600 jr to reprime them. It’s a hassle but worth it to use free .410 hulls.

At about 80 cents a round retail, it is well worth it. Dove season is just around the corner.
