A lot of this bickering is like a virtual pissing match to see just who has the longer dick!

At this point, I'm pretty sure much information is not publicly shared openly. I'm sure lots of what is being discussed in this thread is pure speculation. Some with their previous backgrounds in the military and such, do have entirely different insights based upon previous experiences.

We need to stop slinging insults and personal attacks at one another. As @Younggun said, attack the message, not the person.

What's the reason for wanting Chernobyl? Every news site mentions Russia has control but not why it benefits Russia .
It's an offensive play. Nobody will risk lobbing anything that goes boom there, means the Russkies have a safe occupation inside the lines. If they can protect supply lines, at least. Based on distance to the border of friendly Belarus, there's little opportunity.

That was me and yeah I saw that pop up in Reuters. Hopefully they just sit on it and no one pops arty into the containment dome.

Just the movement and shît already kicked up in the exclusion zone has increased the background radiation levels. It’ll tale a couple of days to see if it’s enough to ride weather patterns and impact parts of Europe or the Black Sea.

Notably, the Ukrainians have formally invoked a mid-30s treaty asking Turkey to close the Dardanelles and Bosphorus Straights (essentially the Black Sea, in other words) to Russian .mil traffic.

Will be interesting to see how the Turks respond as they’ve tightened relations w/Russia over the last few years after finally realizing they’ll probably never become a full member of the EU.

Newsmax reporter chick says Ukraine are literally handing out AKs to any civilian who wants one to defend. Disaster in progress right there. Maybe they should have given less money to the Biden Crime Family and instead shored up their reserve program. Reap what you sow douchbags.

The Russian stock market this afternoon, down 33%. One day.

At one point it was down 45%; at close about $70B in value evaporated; there was also a run on the banks and the ruble dropped to an all time low against the dollar.

Some reports indicate the populace didn’t really believe Putin would go through with an invasion and are pretty fatalistic about the whole deal, recognizing there’s not much they can do to remove him from power. More than a few close advisors have publicly stated they believe Putin may be clinically insane. Whether that’s an aligned IO strategy or not is up for debate.
