I have a hankering for a traditional Colt 1911. I'm looking at the plain jane blued series 70 classic government model. I have other 1911's but no Colt's. I have heard Colt's QC has had varying degrees of competency for the past decade or two. Anyone own any of Colt's recent stuff? I have considered going the CMP route but the "luck of the draw" way they are running things has really turned me off. The fear of receiving a rattle trap is real and disturbing. When I acquired my Garands from the CMP, I had to go to CMP North store to pick them off the rack myself. There are other manufacturers making decent clones but I'm pretty set on getting the genuine article. On top of all this, nobody seems to have any in stock and I'd rather not get raped on Gunbroker. Thoughts on QC, reliability, availability, etc etc???
