I completely agree. All I care about is if they have the plate or placard. I couldn't care less about who it's for or what it's for. If they've got the tag, they're legal. If they don't have the tag, they're getting their shit towed. I've gotten plenty of heat from the other businesses in our strip center because more often than not it's their customers, so now I don't bother going from door to door to talk to the managers to find out whose vehicle it is. I just call up our tow service and they're there within minutes. I'll try and get some video the next time the owner is begging the tow truck driver to not tow their vehicle.

I had someone tell me they parked in a fully marked and signed handicapped space by accident! Ha!
I (sort of) did that once. The parking lot had been repainted and the new stripes didn't line up properly with the handicapped parking signs. There were no handicapped symbols painted on the pavement. I parked next to but not in front of a handicapped sign. Since it was the last sign in a row of signs, it was pretty clear that I was parking in the first non-handicapped space. Well, it was clear to me. It wasn't clear to the people who left a nasty note on my windshield.

It sucks that nobody could get a tow truck there fast enough or at least get an LEO there to write the ticket.

In some locales, there are code enforcement officers who do nothing but write tickets for this. They are all handicapped themselves and tend to approach their work with uncommon zeal and competence. While on general principle I disagree with the whole notion of contracting out government functions to private industry that will invariably screw over the public in order to maximize profits, these sorts of limited programs with substantial oversight are the kind of thing I can support. Just like animal cruelty cases are best worked by specialists, handicapped parking violations are specifically well-suited to enforcers who are already in wheelchairs. :)

    HMMM.

To a degree I guess, but I had a friend get comleteley screwed over in an animal cruelty case due to someones "zeal". Common sense fell off the map and Williamson county was not much oversight.

Yea, I imagine those who work with animal abuse and such are much more passionate than your average meter maid!

It is my understanding that no ticket can be written if there is no dollar amount/fine info included with the sign.
I could be mistaken as I was told this many years ago & it might have changed.

That is what I heard as well. It may or may not be true, but I know for sure that they can still be towed. :D

Yuup, only tool was a hammer eh?

Going back to OP, did you inform them of the snafu yet? They do have delivery training right?

Oh wow, so much stuff going on in here that I forgot what happened.

Yep, sent a complaint via an official form earlier today.
They have my phone number & email, hopefully I will hear something.

I was at a post office one day and saw a US Army soldier jump out of a pickup truck lifted at least three feet off the ground. He ran full-speed into the PO and retrieved his mail and was back in a flash. I confronted him and pointed to an elderly lady using a walker who had to park at least a dozen spaces away from the door because he took one of only two handicapped spots. He gave me the middle finger six inches from my face and said, "**** you, I 'earned' this right", and drove off.

I see this crap all the time.

    Yay... US Army...

Your implication that his actions are representative of all Army soldiers puts you just as low on the list as him, IMHO.

No... just very very common selfish abuses... 'here' anyway. And that's not an 'implication'. It's an observation over and over and over again. When I worked for the MEDCOM Commander at FSH he and his Commanders often asked their soldiers to not use handicap spots if they didn't really need them. MANY... did... not... listen... nor... give a damn... about those who truly needed those spaces. They continued to park in handicap spaces just because they had 'DV' plates even if their handicap was hearing loss. It's absolute BULLSHIT!!
