I miss mine too. Actually liked them a lot more than my parents.I miss my in-laws.
They were good people.
My MIL would have started cooking anything not spoiled and inviting friends and family for supper. So I’ve been out of town on business, and our refrigerator died.
Mrs. Pronstar asked her mom to throw everything out. She sees her mom messing with the fridge for about an hour, and considers it handled.
Two days later, crap is rotting in the fridge.
Mrs. Pronstar opens the door, everything is still there.
So she asks her mom WTF?
Why didn’t you empty the fridge.
MIL hands my wife two pieces of paper, MIL inventoried everything in the fridge.
“I wanted to show you the list of things you wanted me to toss, in case you wanted to keep anything”.
Mrs Pronstar says “it’s in the fridge, I can literally see everything and it’s all bad.”
Mrs Pronstar then emptied the fridge herself LOL
I wish I was home to have witnessed this scenario LOL
I was told by Iraqis that Saddam Hussien had that done.Hell - just get a chipper an' back it up to the lake......
I was told by Iraqis that Saddam Hussien had that done.
Classic update for today.
So we’re on the last legs of getting permits from the city to convert our garage into living space for the in-laws.
Since I won’t have a garage until I build another one, the city is making me out up a carport. I don’t want to do it, but that’s the rules…you need either a garage or carport.
They view a carport as a commercial structure. So I need a zoning variance to allow it on my property. And evidently I need a giant sign in our yard altering the world to this.
People are slowing down as they drive by to see what this new sign says.
MIL notices the cars slowing down in front of our house, frantically calls to Mrs Pronstar and I…
“We need to call the police. People are driving by and trying to look into the upstairs bathroom.”
We try explaining that they’re looking at the giant sign, but she’s not having it. Even though the blinds are down and there’s zero chance of anyone seeing inside a second-story bathroom from the street.
She continues to warn us that we shouldn’t use that bathroom anymore, because it’s obvious people are trying to see inside.
She never goes upstairs anyway, so all we could do is “promise” her that we won’t use that bathroom.
Here’s the bathroom in question, circled in green LMAO

Wouldn't have just been cheaper to sell & get something better in a different Town so you don't have to deal with all the BS.
Tried buying a house lately?
Nope, I've seen prices are up, still probably cheaper & not near the headache in the long run not to deal with all the zoning BS.
Put it this way....prior to her stroke, Schoolmarm & I had been looking for a couple of years. Finding one just this size (a bit over 2900 sq ft) single story (as this one is) is damned near impossible - and if you do, they're trending a bit north of $600k on 1/2+ acre lots.....and those are not what I'd consider "ready to move in" properties.
Now, factor in the "stuff" that has to be moved - bids were $4-5k, and, of course, they will NOT touch any firearm....so yeah - the logistics would be insane. You want BS? Try listing/selling a home, coordinating a move, a move in, and then packing/unpacking a house his (or our) size......no, thanks!
