But nothing makes it workboug smoother than a living trust.

There were no issues, either for mom when dad passed, or us when she did. I hadn't realized everything involved in the living trust - to be fair, most of the hassles were of their own doing....they bought and sold a number of properties in the later years, and mom generally got a new car every year or two - that was the biggest gripe dad had - all the paperwork. Either way, it was their call to make as far as I was concerned.

    Todays update:
MIL call my wife, says she got a cold.

My wife asked how she thinks she got it?

    Not the airport, no way.

Not on the plane, don’t be ridiculous.

Maybe from the reunion, which had dozens of people from all over the country? Not a chance, no one looked sick.

The reason why she thinks she got sick:
Because her sister made her eat a pork sammich even though she wasn’t hungry LMAO
Dont worry. That kind of crazy usually skips a gen or 2.

Picked up the in-laws from Love Field earlier today. They went to CA for a few weeks.

MIL: it’s so much easier to just drive. We’re never flying to CA again.

Me: 6 hours in a plane versus 4 days in a car - with a motel overnight each way - doesn’t sound easier to me?

MIL: we’re just so tired. At least when we drive, we can rest in a hotel. But we had to wake up at 2:30am and rush to the airport to make our flights, and that’s just too early.

Me: you know, they have flights all day long. You don’t have to take 5am flights

MIL: (silent for rest of drive home)

    That just sounds like laziness.
Fortunes have been made and passed on, or lost, in Texas on just a verbal agreement and a handshake. For those who rely on a piece of paper prepared by a lawyer to make them feel like they're protected, I'd have to say they're a bunch of pussies. Man up and rely on being a man, with a handshake and being a man of your word.

This thread is a good 1, always get a good laugh. My mother in law once disassembled my daughter’s bed and donated it, without buying her a new 1. She couldn’t understand for the life of her why I was pissed, I had to explain that you buy a new bed before giving away the old 1. Good to know we all suffer the same.

    Nothing to report today.
Was sorta nice having the house to ourselves for a bit.

City permitting might be close to done for the garage conversion.
We‘re approaching 4 months for permits.
Planning meeting October 24, then city council on November 15…

My city sucks ass, it’s like an HOA

Here's what few realize. Cities are having a hard time finding and keeping help too. Have had issues getting inspections in some areas because of it.

Some have always been really slow too so there's that.

    Keep pushing. It'll come.
