I went deer hunting opening day. I probably should gone to hicksville instead. All I saw was a lonely coyote...lol
Hahaa. How long does deer season run, 'til January? You could have been hunting Sunday. We have a great time, hope to see you out there next meet.

I took a few pictures. There have been plenty, already, so I'll try to make this shorter than my usual.

    Before the Big Booms

Always time for shooting the bull before actually shooting.

Yes, something over there just went "bang".

    Our strong right arm.

Setting up for lunch. Many thanks to all who provided the fantastic feast.

You know a proper campground is established when the colors are flying.
    DSC_0046_zps050f95b4.jpg

The 100-yard firing line was well populated.
    DSC_0054_zpscb4786a0.jpg

Folks were on the line all day.
    DSC_0056_zps03dcdf79.jpg

Good to see this crew in attendance. At least one left with, I hope, a slight extra appreciation for old, weird target pistols.

Some folks believe in being prepared.

Especially the ones who go to the trouble to bring their own shade.

When you're bringing this much hardware, it's nice to know you'll have cover.
    DSC_0070_zpsc6fde18d.jpg

There were guns everywhere, even in the grass.
    DSC_0068_zpse758b42e.jpg

It's funny. I've watched the trap and skeet events at multiple Olympics but I've never seen hardware quite like that for busting clays.
    DSC_0072_zpsb21457e5.jpg

It was nice to see that .50 finally get a workout.
    DSC_0132_zpse864366c.jpg

Apparently, though, a stylish wig isn't quite enough ear protection.

Checking out the wreckage before assembly.
    DSC_0077_zpsafa26eb7.jpg

How many people were coming downrange for this photo?
    DSC_0078_zps8d87285f.jpg

    Naturally we needed an organizer.
    DSC_0092_zps91597019.jpg

Somebody needed to tell us to stand there and get our picture taken. (And hand out much-deserved kudos, too.)
    DSC_0083_zps0f6d42d7.jpg

    Find yourself - stage right.
    DSC_0087_zpsdcd7257d.jpg

    Stage center.

    Stage left.

The young and healthy tended to clamber high.
    DSC_0096_zpse0879c8c.jpg

And the reticent hung to the rear.
    DSC_0097_zps57067bbc.jpg

Yes, I'm taking pictures. You just noticed?

    Group Picture, Part 2

Scott's Dad took the official photos.
    DSC_0100_zpsbb7d41fb.jpg

Then he handed off the camera and joined the group.

    The lineup.
    DSC_0109_zps549f8adc.jpg

Flags and grill. Too bad there wasn't enough of the grill left to put in a teacup at the end of the day.
    DSC_0110_zps6bc20036.jpg

Congrats, Chuck, on lifting that .50 over your head. I couldn't do that.
    DSC_0115_zpsd5c97062.jpg

Of course, the more intelligent among us hung back and watched, keeping a safe distance from the mob.
    DSC_0113_zps563a7e19.jpg

The walk back to the line begins...
    DSC_0124_zpsc0f44a88.jpg

...and there's one in every group, isn't there?
    DSC_0127_zps44f70517.jpg

    Nice kit.

    After the Big Booms

Time for the obligatory "That'll buff right out!"
    DSC_0143_zpscb00d956.jpg

I really don't think that motor can be salvaged...if it's still under there.
    DSC_0145_zps403bcce4.jpg

Good shooting, Curtis. Thanks for the car, the trailer, the work...everything.
    DSC_0147_zps3812ef3e.jpg

The last two blasts left some deep holes.
    DSC_0151_zps50305c7b.jpg

    And I mean deeeeeep!
    DSC_0155_zps4b53dcbd.jpg

From the rear, it's hardly recognizable as (at one time) a car, is it?
    DSC_0157_zpsef81f798.jpg

Is there a more wholesome family outing than blowing stuff up?

    The Clean Up

Folks spread out, gathered up the small bits, and tossed them into the chassis. Many hands make light work. Heck, I even bent over once or twice.
    DSC_0160_zpsd12bb91c.jpg

Note that those front tires are where the holes were already filled in. Soft ground, eh?
    DSC_0163_zpsb1f83c11.jpg

The wreckage was teased onto the trailer expertly, bit by bit.
    DSC_0166_zpsf4d1f94a.jpg

Then a bit more. It's almost like you guys have done this before.
    DSC_0167_zps1516c289.jpg

Naturally, you had all the hands-on help you could possibly need.
    DSC_0168_zps1d283b09.jpg

Summary - I can't imagine a better way to spend a day and meet great people; the shooting was just an excuse to show up. I left with all my joints screaming in pain...and a giant smile on my face and in my heart. Thanks to everyone for a great, great time.
