No, it really doesn't. There's a very clear distinction between an inanimate object and a highly venomous living creature. There's also a very clear distinction between wanting something banned, and feeling that only responsible people SHOULD (not "should be allowed") own and handle animals that pose a significant danger to anyone who comes into contact with them.

Just because you think someone shouldn't do something doesn't mean that you also think that they shouldn't be allowed to do it.

The false equivalences you're using in your argument is more lib like than anything else in this thread.

The real distinction is that an irresponsible asshole left a snake in an enclosure without proper locks just like someone leaving a gun unattended where a child could get to it. Inanimate or animate the potential for imminent and fatal danger is real with either. Coincidentally this apparently just happened yesterday. See: https://www.foxnews.com/us/north-ca...accidentally-shoots-kills-farther-family-says Responsibility on the owner's part is the key in keeping either guns or venomous snakes or anything else that is potentially dangerous.

By the way: I said something sounded like liberal whining IMO (that sir means "in my opinion") and you tell me that "no it really doesn't". You seem to have some liberal audacity to try to tell someone what does or does not appear to be one way of another in that person's opinion. Amazing. You may not like my opinion, you may not agree with it and you may try to change it - but after all - it is my opinion not yours so please don't tell me what it does appear to be or doesn't appear to be to me. And yes, it did sound like liberal whining to me - exactly like it when it comes to gun control. It is all about the left wanting to control others and if someone goes far right enough around the circle that person can wind up on the left trying to control others over something that should be determined by personal liberty other than by the one trying to wrest control over another person's liberty.

This thread has been amazing! More divisive than anything in the political section. A true experiment in human nature.

    Let’s recap.
I made an observation, in a comical light, that the people freaking out about the snake, say the exact same things that the anti gunners say, about us gun owners. I never compared the snake to a gun, I merely stated that the reaction to either, is the same.
“it’s different, one is an inanimate object, one is a thinking, killing machine, animate object.” My reply was along the lines of what’s your point? I’m trying to discuss the reaction to the object, not the object. “That’s silly! Get a better argument.”
Another member here made the point that you could replace the word “snake” with the word gun, and it would sound like the anti gunners. The replies were, “l never said ban snakes.”

It has been said that freedom of speech protects the speech that we don’t agree with. (This is a private venue, and I’m not trying to hold it to the 1st amendment.) Please don’t misconstrue this. My point is, if you really want freedom, people get to do shit that you might not agree with. The snake was licensed and permitted by the state, in accordance with the law, but yet, members here, on a gun forum, wanted the owners head. It’s freaking comical! But several can’t see it. It’s exactly how the left see’s us, and treats us. Word for word.

If we want the government to control anything remotely dangerous, let’s burn the constitution, in a very safe, environmentally clean manner, of course, and have them protect us from harm.

@Younggun, all I can say is WTF? Bad day at home? You nearly, single handedly turned two meaningless threads into total shit shows. Bruce Lee and a cobra, again, WTF? Your trolling was epic, and I will commend you for it, or hope, that whatever tragic event happened on that day at home or work has passed.

@Axxe55. Dude, show me on the doll where I hurt you. You got more butt hurt than anyone in the thread, claiming that you were called all kinds of names, but yet, You post all the Butt hurt cream memes like you really got to someone. After you made several judgemental comments, then posted how you deleted a very long post, another member said something along the lines of, thanks, maybe TGT ain’t for you.
You made a drama queen like exit.

Axxe, a lot of the time you are a hoot, but as something of an outsider here, I want to tell you, you troll harder than any member on this board. You are very outspoken, and I respect that, but sometimes you’re just flat out wrong. If someone points out that you are wrong, you call them a troll, and lecture them on how trolling is frowned upon.

    Please discuss...

I'm not going to get into a long discussion over this because frankly, it's been a long day and I'm tired. I will just say this. It being your opinion is irrelevant. It does not shield you from criticism nor being told that you are wrong. Liberals might think that it does, but that doesn't fly here.

At no point did I try tell you what you thought. I simply told you that you were wrong, which you are. Where you got that I was somehow trying to tell you what you're own opinions are is a mystery to me, and I frankly find it laughable.

    To sum it up.

Wow. Yeah, let's recap. Not once did I ever say they should be banned. Not once did I say that people shouldn't own them. I said it was idiotic for anyone to own or possess venomous snakes for pets, just like people are idiots for owning large constrictors for pets. So that got me labeled as being liberal!

I was accused of being afraid of snakes. Not true. I just happen to have a healthy respect for something that can harm me. I happen to have a very healthy respect for lions, tigers and bears as well, but not fearful either. I was accused of being ignorant and stupid because I didn't know anything about snakes. Again, not true. I may not be a herpetologist, but I am far from ignorant or stupid in regards to snakes.

I'll also stand on my comments of trying to compare a venomous snake to a gun as being a very poor comparison or analogy. It was said several times by a few, we could essentially switch out snake for gun, and then we start sounding like liberal anti-gunners! Well, then, we could switch out snake for lions, or porn, or fast food, or really any other hundreds of things. I mean if we are going to make apples to oranges comparisons, lets be creative.

Hurt? Yeah, that did hurt. Being called a troll, or that I troll harder than anyone on TGT? Yeah, that hurt. Hmmm...why? Because it comes from someone that I thought was a person I could respect and someone that I thought was a friend. I'm pretty thick skinned for the most part having spent some years on various forums. Sometimes I can get upset or even angry at remarks from various people and strangers on the internet. But hurt? Not so much. For me to have my feelings hurt, means that someone I either befriended, trusted, or respected said something hurtful towards me, or about me. But don't worry, I have a long history of being stabbed in the back by people I have trusted in the past, and have very good defensive reaction to protecting myself. It's why I have very, very few close friends.

So y'all enjoy the thread, have a party, discuss, debate, or argue or whatever everyone wants to do. I gots other drama I need to be trolling in.

I said it was idiotic for anyone to own or possess machine guns for hobbies, just like people are idiots for owning destructive devices for sports. So that got me labeled as being liberal!
See how easily if you replace a few words the Fudd comes out. We all are just a few words away from slapping on the butt hurt. The words I changed could easily be replaced with so many others to start shit!

Let’s face it real Americans believe in individual freedoms. Someone’s feelings, are really never more important than another freedoms!

Axxe I have ribbed you about Elvis and some of you fast food choices in the past. Think about”I said it was idiotic for anyone to own or possess Elvis for music’ just like calling Taco Bell food.” In this case you might not think of me as a liberal, but stupid yankee trash! Rights are not about feelings.

Granted I see post by others who at times have me scratching both heads, my nuts & ass! Now let’s all turn on CBSN and get back to hating our common enemies!

Baboon, not once have I ever said anything about banning or what people can, or can't own.

Some of you keep putting words or thoughts into my posts that just aren't there.

I also think there are idiots that should own guns as well. Does that make me a FUDD now? I also think those same people should own nothing more complicated that a tennis ball, and I'm being generous with that.

But that doesn't mean I think or believe that they should be banned, or prohibited from owning guns. I'm confident at some point, idiots are good at getting corrected for their actions.

If a person creates conditions or their actions create a danger or endanger others, then there should be consequences.

People may wonder why I'm so cynical, or distrustful, or for the most part trust my dogs more that people. Well this thread could be a really good representation and indicator why that is.
I'm not one for airing out dirty laundry for everyone to see, but I'll make an exception. Maybe if you weren't such hypocrite, people wouldn't engage you the way they do. By the way this is the first time you are being directly called a hypocrite. Now you can stop fabricating all these accusations and have some merit behind your posts about being g called one. Now why do I call you one? Easy enough. How many times have you told member of this forum that this isn't a place for them and that they should find somewhere to go? My post saying that way directly related to you doing exactly that. It was a quick and cheap jab I'll admit just to ruffle your feathers. Then you ran to the post whore thread crying about how people called you names. Nobody did and you went full Jussie Smollet there. You still are playing the victim card though and I don't expect you to change your ways. Yes you are a troll. You even had professional troublemakerr for awhile as your sig awhile back. You purposely run off new members frequently. You start shit with anybody who doesn't agree with you and pursue them into other threads. Then when someone says something back you get offended like a raging femnazi and throw a shit fit. I'll stand by the my post saying maybe this isn't the place for you. If you don't like hearing that then don't be a hypocrite. You don't have to play the victim card. Of course you can since this is a free country. Just don't be surprised when you start getting called a boy who crys wolf. Now you can go back to post whore thread and whine about the mean internetz. Just don't Smollet yourself again. In fact I'll like that now. I'll just refer to you as Jussie.

Wow! aren't you the ray of sunshine of this thread!

Thank you Trey for reinforcing my thoughts and opinions about people in general.

And when you start calling other people hypocrites, maybe take a long look in the mirror first. Just curious, are you so perfect as to be without any fault or blame that you can go around casting stones at sinners? Think about that one the next time you go calling other people hypocrites.

ETA: Oh BTW @TreyG-20 I'm removing you from my Christmas card list!
