In 27 years, I have never had a rattlesnake on my property. I credit that to a long history of goat ranching in the area and a bunch of good Indigo snakes... Them being good snakes, doesn't mean I haven't used a stick to encourage a few to leave my vicinity, when they thought chicks would make a good meal!

I live in Grand Prairie, and yesterday morning my wife came in for me to grab something long and sharp since there was a big copperhead snake right at the base of the stairs on our back porch.
Just coincidental it was same city same day.
