I had a '69 Cheyenne Super, short wide bed.
Posi trac, 396. Factory air.
I'd love to have that one back.
Tires and gas, repeat.
Also really like the first gen Firebirds.
No, he's not! He's clearly off topic and should be permabanned. Damn hippies, can't concentrate fer chit.Winner^^^^
Can't believe anybody hasn't put this up yet:
WINNER!!!
I should be publicly flogged for not starting off with an AC Cobra
Hell to the yes. I'm a Ford guy, but those Firebirds were sexy. A buddy in high school had one like this with a bored 400, a serious cam, and plenty of carb to feed it. It didn't matter much in the day when gas was sub 50 cents a gallon.
The only thing I loved about the POS 4-door green-and-rust Pontiac I got when I first entered the working world was that small-block 400. I don't know if the engine was particularly sweet or if it was just the contrast with the rest of the car but I loved it.Those d port 400 ponchos sure have a sound all their own.
No use having something if I can't wedge my posterior into it.Can't believe anybody hasn't put this up yet:
Friend of a friend had one, back in the day (relating the memory to my job history, I know it was before 1982.) Only folks from Houston will understand this reference - It may not have been smart but it sure was fun to hit 100 between the lights on Hillcroft, just south of the SW Freeway.
5 windows are sweet. Bullet grill or slats?
Had one of these in high school ...
As for dream car ...
If you don't recognize it, a 66 Galaxie 500 7 Litre
427 side oiler ...
A neighbor had one and I just remember it making my cheeks flap and hair stand straight back.
More specifically one of the 547 done by McClaren. THE GNX Lol.Buick Grand National was about as good as it got in the 1980s for US cars.
