I grew up in a little town in central Texas. One night, a car pulled into the Dairy Queen. It was a DeTomaso Pantera. The driver was tired and didn't want to talk but he didn't mind letting some hick kids gawk at it for as long as it took for him to grab a burger, fries, a coke, and hit the head. It was silver with a black interior. I'll never forget it.

"The kid" (as my parents called him) across the street had a '66 Nova. Descent medium blue with Cragar SS mags. Probably nothing special but in my memory . . . .

It's been so long now, I don't remember if The Kid was in HS or college.

This one lives in ATX and passed me at well over 100 mph on MOPAC one day.

Friend of a friend had one, back in the day (relating the memory to my job history, I know it was before 1982.) Only folks from Houston will understand this reference - It may not have been smart but it sure was fun to hit 100 between the lights on Hillcroft, just south of the SW Freeway.
