Michelin is definitely one of those you get what you pay for tires.

Good or bad? (Not sure of their prices)
Ducknot I know you are looking at trailers but have you looked at motorhomes? The financing will be better for a motorhome and longer terms.

We have thought about it but the cost is significantly higher and the truck will serve a dual purpose as my daily driver!

He probably meant good. They're top tier tires. I also like the LTX A/T2 if your truck sees off-road use a little more often. These Michelins aren't cheap though. But at least they last a long time and are quiet.

I had a set of Michelins on my Expedition that lasted 24k. I moved over to Yokohama tires and have been happy with ride noise and traction etc.

I don't think I'd want to daily drive an unloaded 1 ton, but I support your lifestyle choices

Fords aren't bad at all but the trade off is the squat without helper suspension.

Of course I like a truck to feel like a truck.

I bet you guys take the shocks out of your 1/2 tons as well, just to ride rougher...

Shocks are for bounce. Us professionals jam 2x blocks between the springs and frame as well as air the tires up to max pressure. When I hit a pothole I want the opposing tire to lift off the ground.

Get your soft little tushy and not sore back the heck out of here. Use men don't have time for that pansy crap.

Yeah, after I wrote it I realized I should have said springs, but I didn't feel like changing it.

Hopefully you can get a deal with the '17s hitting the lots.

Good choice though.
