Why? Apparently Cummins do EVERYTHING better than a duramax....

    Sent from...wait where am I!?
It all depends on who you ask. Owner brand loyalty taints any reasonable discussion.

The big three are all making good trucks with great engines. Looking at the numbers anybody can come up with an arguement for or against any of them.

    I've driven all three.

Chevy comes in dead last for a HD truck. Duramax wishes it could be a real diesel someday.

No load daily driver Duramax isn't bad. It would make a pretty good gasser.

I definitely prefer dodge for constant towing.

That said, mine has been having regular issues with the def system since about 175k.

Now I get a message for 200miles to limp mode caused by DEF issue. I drop it to 4th or 5th running down the highway and it clears it.

If I owned it I would have it all deleted.

The Duramax felt more like a daily driver, haul a load every now and then diesel.

Everything about the newer Ford HDs just feels cheap to me. Company is going to 550s and I'd prefer another Ram 3500.

Also, with Dodge you know exactly how much DEF you have. Ford just gives you a stupid "miles remaining" message when it gets low. I hate that.

If you want a Cummins in a Dodge, you're going to have to buy a used one. Fiat, Ram's owner, declined to renew the contract with Cummins, and is now putting their own diesels in the Ram. Cummins can now be found in Nissans.

You have my humblest apologies. when I first heard/read this a while back, I thought it was for all Ram diesels. Instead, Fiat declined to use the light duty diesel intended for the half ton. Should have done some more research before posting. Sorry once again.
