Mine has had a few problems. Back in for AC 3 times under warranty. All refrigerant leaks.

Radio went out twice I think. Mid tier with Uconnect.

Radiator hose leaking around 30K. The plastic Y that seems to be popular.

At 175K the turbo took a shit. Root cause was EGR valve. That one was spendy.

Had a caliper stick and kill a rotor after it wore through the inside pad on front drivers side. Probably around 100-125k miles.

This truck is driven day in and day out with a starting weight of 17,000lbs. Lots of idling at jobs.

Picked up in March or May of '13, at 217k miles now.

We've got fords that have their share issues as well. I like the way the dodge drive better. Tighter turning radius, less turns of the wheel to do it, and better take off. A/C blows harder in the Ford but I think mines clogged with dust, happens to cars where I live. Need to get the cab air filter kit.

    Def sucks.

Overall, I like the truck because I'm not paying for it or repairs. I wouldn't buy a new diesel.

Oil change with fuel and air filters is a little over $300.

So when looking at used trucks what would be considered "low mileage"

Another way to ask is how many miles should I expect to get out of a diesel before major mechanical repairs/death occur?

100k is young for a well maintained diesel. Not sure about the others but Ford runs a 100k mile engine warranty on their diesels. That is why there are usually a bunch for sale around that many miles. Warranty goes, so does the truck.

even at 200k I would still be happy for a Duramax, Cummins or 7.3 PSD. the bigger concern is finding one that's never been tuned or molested.

The Problem isn't the engine with a Cummins; it's the transmission
