The hands always tell. I have a few friends that are older than me but at first glance you wouldn't think so as they are fit and very attractive. Their hands are kinda gnarly, tho

Past 65 or 70, the skin on the back of hands gets very thin & delicate. I often wear ‘’gardeners’ gloves’’ for protection now.

I don’t feel so old, but the mirror doesn’t lie.

I don't feel so old until I try lifting something heavy and carrying it...

FYI, I find it easier to rack a slide if i use the whole hand to grip the slide over the top. The fingers on one side and the heel of the hand on the other. The thumb does nothing. Also it helps to grab the side and push the frame forward rather than pulling the slide. Turn your body sideways to keep the muzzle pointed down range and hold the gun close to your chest, pushing from right to left.

Wish I would feel old enough to not have the urge to climb back on a flat track bike, or chase every 20+ year old lady I meet.
But in the back of my mind, I know that I may not survive either...

    A stage of maturity.

Sadly, there is no fountain of youth; not even a fountain of Viagra.

I had a very good run, though.

HIV/Aids began a new era of chastity !

Yes, I do that too. Someone called it a ‘’Monkey Grip’’ ?

    But, it does work. . . . . .

    That place east of Waco....
Getting a little Arthur in my shooting hand....enough to get me out of micro-9s and into more .22lr shooting. Currently, my carry gun leans more to a LCPII .22lr, but I'm looking for a 942UL in .22Mag to sub for it and my 856. I may even look for a vertical shoulder holster for my Mk IV 22/45.....

No one told me it would take so long to get old.....

I'm 80+ with arthritis, still enjoy shooting, ice is a big help on hands and knees, plus I use tight golfing gloves at the range, huge benefit. I can shoot
45acp and 40, however I notice the high power 40 is getting hard to rack.

One precaution if you choose this method. It seems intuitive, but it isn't always - make certain that you won't cut your hand when you do this! The rear sight can get you easily. It may be necessary to defang the gun in that area first. This isn't just for us older folks, either - 'operators' are taught the same thing!
