Anyone have advice or experience with a Benchmade Infidel?

Fantastic fighting knife, but as an EDC it would quite a compromise as the blade id designed for stabbing and not much else.

Fantastic fighting knife, but as an EDC it would quite a compromise as the blade id designed for stabbing and not much else. It is too thick for everyday tasks like cutting or opening packages. I have a Benchmade Presidio 5000 and really like the auto-axis mechanism.

I'm not really into automatic knives but much like open carry, I am a law abiding citizen and should have the right.

Exactly! It's about choice. I look at auto knives as pretty much a novelty. With a good folder and some practice, honestly you can open them nearly as fast as a quick auto knife. It's kind of like revolver vs. semi. We can carry a deadly weapon (gun)...but an auto knife is illegal? That just doesn't make sense. If you can carry a gun, you should be able to carry a switchblade, butterfly knife, baton, knuckles, baseball bat with frickin nails in it. ;) The government should not dictate what you can carry as far as I'm concerned.

Also, did the bill pass limiting other jurisdictions (San Antonio) from passing more stringent rules than the state?

Would that be legal? It's got two distinct edges making it an dagger or stiletto, which will still be illegal, right???
Don't think it will fit into Texas 46.01.
It's an Illegal knife and there are rules about carry of them ...... Unless you're carrying your CHL license and a gun of type you qualified with for example. ;-) Still I'd recommend knowing the fact they may take a ride.
