Ruger single six with 22 Magnum cylinder.
    15 years old
Dad had to pick it up for me due to my age.
Worked all summer long to earn the money. Was $99
Still have it. Going to gift it to my buddies first born.
Mine was the same with a 6-1/2”. I was 16 and worked at a grocery store. My FFL was a custodian at the school district. I got called from class to the office to receive my package from “Sturm, Ruger,& co”

Apache Black Remington Nylon 66 purchased way, way before age 21. I walked into the Gibson's Discount Store, handed them my money, and they handed me that beautiful rifle. Still have it, still shoot it, and it is still my favorite rifle purchase (now worth about 5 times what I paid for it, although I will never part with it): View attachment 413475
I bought a like new model of the 66 from a good friend in 2010. When my grandson turned 10, I gave it to him as a birthday gift. Beautiful little rifle!!!

The first gun I bought was a Mossberg .22 rifle. I paid for it but my Mom had to go buy it for me as I was 15. The first gun I bought all by myself was a Ruger Security Six from a private party when I was 18. It was a legal transaction at the time.

Hey Marlon model 60 with a 3 to 6 power scope. It was 1967, I was 10 years old, I traded fishing pole and a small box of lures and accessories for it. I wore that gun out!
