Could someone here give a brief overview of what has transpired so far in the Texas legislature to further Open Carry? Some of us, such as myself, have seen news bits and online postings of what has been going on. Something like what has happened and what still needs to happen for it to get signed by our Governor.

It would only be in our best interest to include retention holsters.

    1) It would coerce people to practice with them.
    2) It would prevent disarmament more than a non-retention holster

#2 would lead to a very STRONG argument against OC, or any progression of it towards constitutional carry.

    1. gov needs to stop coercing people.

    2. Because that happens all the time........just look at all these examples of it happening.

This link will tell you the steps needed to get through in order for it to make it to the governor.

Please note the progress will be updated to show VOTED ON BY HOUSE in green on Monday when the vote is made official, I believe (if wrong, can someone clarify that point?)

I'm not for giving in to the "other" crowd. Make me practice? Screw them. If I'm carrying OC I'm going to be cognizant of my carry weapon and be aware of it at all times. I want to carry the way "I" want to carry. I don't give a shit about them having a "strong" argument". :green: Don't give an inch, damnit!

IWB with shirt tucked in = open carry
I understand that but why (other than it would be legal if OC passes)? Retention? more concealed than OWB? maybe more comfortable for some people? I know IWB isn't anywhere near as comfortable for me

Keep the gun from snagging on things. Could be a factor depending on your activities.

Ex: I carry my phone OWB in a level 1 retention clip holster. It's constantly catching on stuff as I go about my business.

Strangely, no BGs have taken it and used it against me or robbed me first. Probably because it's an IPhone and apple sucks.

Sometimes during our several weeks of winter I'll carry IWB with a jacket concealing the handgun. Would be nice to be able to remove my jacket inside a restaurant etc.
