    You want a medal?

    No.

    Satisfaction is it's own reward.

And, really, what is the utility of the Electoral College system in 2008 or 2012 or 2016?
Unless we're a near 50/50 swing state our vote in November is of scant consequence.
It's troubling me now more than ever that Texan's votes mean near nil!!!

That probably deserves it's own thread, BTW.

The Electoral College is part of our Representative Republic system of government.
you should read up on it. It was put together by some really smart men who knew the dangers of majority rule.

you claim to be an obstetrician. I would hope that along your educational journey you took some civics classes. My son is 16 he understands the wisdom of the Electoral College and the folly of majority rule.

A couple of states allow their Electoral College votes to be split. Now that America has (apparently) permanently committed to a two (and only two) party system, for all practical purposes, I'm thinking those two states have probably made an improvement to the EC system as opposed to "winner take all". [Trying to recall the two states; one is AZ I think & I don't recall who the other is?]

When Ron Paul retired I just said "**** it". All these other politicians are a bunch of goons. The democrats are a bunch of left leaning fascists and socialists. Most of the Republicans are every bit as "big government."

    Lindsey Graham? John MCain? lol.

Even Reagan wasn't near as "small government" as all his worshippers think. The guy signed the Hughes amendment. And yeah, I know the circumstances and I still don't give two shits - he screwed us.

The next president would have much less influence over our lives than Greg Abbott if government was functioning properly. Instead every facet of life from education, healthcare, insurance and on and on is so heavily centrally controlled that we can barely even say we're a mixed economy still.

As for Barry, he's trashed my religion every chance he's got. Talk about ignoring the first amendment, the guy wants to force funding or acceptance of his contraception-and-baby-murder-care on the Church every chance he gets. "Free speech zones"...remember those? If baby-murder-care has worked so well then why did my healthcare costs skyrocket? Oh yeah, because I actually had kids instead of aborting them and I have a job that pays well cause I worked my ass off. I must have one of them "Cadillac" plans.

Now let's lol at the 2nd amendment. Tried to sneak through M855 ammo ban but got called on it. How many other times did he get called out and fail only because we were watching him? Hes jacking up the NFA trust rules so bad it's would be hugely inconvenient to add any more NFA items on mine, again because i have a big family on mine because I didn't abort my kids.

Maybe a few examples of the 4th? What's he done about the NSA except try to expand it. Now I'm not saying Barry is worse than his R predecessors on this; I think they're all a bunch of 4th amendment haters including Bush. Patriot act had me wondering why I should ever vote AT ALL again. But what did Obama do, he pushed to have it EXPANDED.

I can go on and on. Does anyone really think Obama was better for our country? I don't mean better than some milk toast DemoRepublican like MCain or Graham or Bus. They would all equally suck and continue screwing up our country.

Common core? You gotta be shitting me. The Feds have zero constitutional authority to spend or do anything related to education.

What about our insolvent, unconstitutional, federal welfare and "safety net" programs? He do anything to fix those? Nope.

What about our immigration problem, he do anything to fix that? Nope.

And if we're going to actually debate his virtues I would like to point out that comparing a shitty Dem to a shitty Rep does not prove anything other than the fact the they're both shitty.

Satisfaction? You're a fucking troll. You will probably be banned within a week.
I've looked through his posts, not a single troll post, he just happens to disagree with you on some issues. That isn't trolling, and calling him that makes you sound like an idiot.

Well said. We don't agree on a lot, but this about sums it up.

That's the thing that always baffles me about the apologists. They say "well the other side did it, too!" like it's some sort of good thing.

    Great post MH.

Voted for Obama, and unabashedly will defend my choice.

Heck. I'll likely vote for Hillary just to piss of so many people that I banter with and because I sorely miss the debate team days of my youth.

    :)

No surprise there. Says a lot about how you view your vote. I view my vote as more than just pissing off someone. There's greater issues at hand than your selfish satisfaction to piss off people. Not surprised that's how you feel or treat your vote.

Here in Texas, whoever has an "R" next to their name will easily win the election. It matters quite little if he votes for Hillary or anyone else.

Hell, if Donald Trump has a "R" next to his name, he'd probably get the electoral votes. That would be rolling on the floor funny if it wasn't serious.

    Somewhere here nor there....
I'll take your challenge is somehow you can show some data to support your basic tenet.
The fact is you just don't want to admit Democrats run most things into the ground worst than Republicans. The poorest cities on one of those lists have been run by Demo's for decades!! Imagine that... I spent 5 minutes and found this info and there's pages of links...

How about cities with highest crime?

What you wrote can't possibly be true. Not all of us say/think that only conservatives have gun rights. I for one would like every liberal Democrat grandmother in Chicago to own a light-weight .38 special so she can protect herself when (not if) she eventually gets accosted on the street or in her home. She can't fight against brute strength any other way. She, like everyone else, has a right to defend herself.
