I have a 45 osprey and use it primarily on a 9mm pistol. Works fine. I wasn't the biggest fan of the piston design at first, still not Wild about it.
You are talking to a suppressor newbie here. The piston threads onto the gun and connects it to the suppressor itself right?

What dont you like about the piston on the Osprey?

Inside the spring cap that seals on the piston. To change pistons you have to remove the spring and the spring cap. Dragging it over all of that carbon is hard on them. It's ok on new pistons. If you are going to change host's a lot it sucks. They told me they could not sell me a piston with spring and cap. That would make it way easier to change hosts.

Stopped by the shop again (one of the few benefits of working in Austin).

Narrowed it down to the AAC Ti Rant 45 or Silencerco Octane 45. I do need to examine the sound difference shooting 9 through 45 cans vs 9 through 9 cans.

Looked at some 22 suppressors and 308 suppressors as well.

Sounds like AKs and M1As are harder to suppress than those freaking ARs.

Found it. Didn't even notice it. Need to go ahead and order some spares, I spose

9mm thru a 45 is still pretty frigging loud, like unsuppressed subsonic 22lr loud. If really quiet is what you are looking for, its best to get a dedicated can. If they still have that deal on the tirant 9mm, I would jump on it. Scott has one, its a great can.
