Careful. They tend to take that as a challenge. As if California couldn't get any more phucked up and stupid!
Ya, but GM lost me as a customer before that announcement. No way in heck I would trust them to build a reliable computer on 4 wheels. They can’t even master stuff that should be tried and true like transmissions ( 8 speed). How :any AFM motors had to be prematurely replaced? The common center dash crack on newer trucks/tahoes and the like. Look no further than the Bolt to see what future GM cars will look like, What a joke.Did you see post #12.
My only concern is getting fuel and parts for my current vehicles. They should last many years.Point is, it doesn't matter what the state says if no ICE vehicles are being produced anyway.
I don't think GM is the only one that said this.
I just don't trust a fully electric vehicle. The technology is still just too new, and unproven.Ya, but GM lost me as a customer before that announcement. Nor do I want a vehicle that can be tracked and controlled by an external source.I just don't trust a fully electric vehicle. The technology is still just too new, and unproven.
Exactly! Those batteries are not going to last forever, and will have to be replaced at some point. They're so concerned about pollution & still don't have a solution for battery or solar panel disposal.
From my understanding, a lot of the materials for the newer type of batteries have to be sourced from other countries.I can only imagine the battery shortage of 2040
Eta
I'm sure there is probably a shortage now .... since everything else is in the car market
Pollution isn't the goal. It's about control. They're so concerned about pollution & still don't have a solution for battery or solar panel disposal.

That’s when barter will become popularYessir I know their plan, just wait until we're all on digital currency
I want to see California ban gas outdoor lawn equipment. That would be funny! I know there are electric riding mowers and such...all my small lawn equipment is battery powered. But ban gas for consumers and commercial businesses would be funny for that state.
Imagine all of the tow trucks needed to pull those dead vehicles off of the freeways after their batteries die.
Also bound to cause closure of gas stations throughout the state. Who will go to California in the future? Who wants to go there anyway?
If Cali is serious about banning internal combustion engines, they need to ban them on construction equipment, bulldozers, backhoes, cranes and planes.
