I expect CA will enact increasingly large registration fees on gas powered cars in addition to increasing the tax on gasoline in an effort to force consumers to buy an ev.

    Probably right.
But they may, or will end up raising registration costs on EV's as well to make up for lost revenue from fuel taxes.

They will have too. CA tax per gallon is now 54 cents. They also have a sales tax on that. So it raises almost $8 Billion which will have to be made up somewhere

In the big picture, is the planet doomed? Will the ozone that will be generated from the electrical charging requirements of over a billion EV’s will be of such a scale that it will cause global lung irritation, ozone poisoning, lung scarring, cancer, and subsequent death? Just wondering.

This will more than likely cause issues nationwide. California loves to prevent heavy trucks that don't meet cali requirements, from reaching port. I bet you truckers won't be able to haul or afford new rigs.
Hopefully by that time we will be off of our HF high and more chit will be produced in the Americas. They could also give Cali a stiff middle finger and ship though the Panama Canal and deliver on the eastern portsor gulf ports

They already have regular brown outs… should be fun with just 10% increase in EV’s…. Going to need a big one so you can live in it…. It will be the only thing you have that has power. It will make China happy they have several of the largest battery makers. Lithium don’t grow on tree’s…..

Washington State just announced they are banning gas cars starting in 2035 as well. I think they are trying to force mass electric cars by banding together. We already have Euros doing this, and they must figure that if enough states in the US do the same, then it will not be worth the effort of auto manufacturers to even bother with gas cars for only 60% of the populace. Nobody can afford them, which would force folks to move to urban areas with mass transit. Farmers and Ranchers cant do it, so they are forced to sell to Gates or other conglomerates. South America, India and third world countries will still have gassers, but no way they could be imported here due to lack of safety equipment. This is one huge money and power grab. EVs are one big computer, and I doubt there is an easy way to cut the tracking and remote access without killing the car
