Nobody has announced yet. Not Trump, not DeSantis. But DeSantis' wife, who runs his entire staff, has already said she wants him to run, so it's a pretty decent bet at this early point.

DeSantis' biggest advantage is that he is much like Trump, as you say, but DeSantis doesn't have the wagon load of negative baggage that Trump has.

This is true, but again, who cares about them?

It's not a secret: those of us who are die-hard conservatives don't win elections. Those lunatics who are die-hard leftists don't win elections, either. It's the fence-sitters, the moderates, the swing states. Those are the people who determine which way this nation goes. Those are the people a candidate must sway in order to win. And those people don't much care for Trump's BS, so Trump needs to go, it's just that simple.
Everyone on this forum pretty much approved of Trump as President. If I could appoint him for another term I would. But it doesn't work that way -- we need a candidate who has a chance to win, and that's not Trump. Luckily, it appears DeSantis will have a good shot, if Trump doesn't screw it up.

I just don’t understand why the Rs don’t throw down and play dirty like the Ds. If we are going to cheat and lie it shouldn’t be one sided. Taking the high road isn’t working.

As for Pennsylvania, I hope Fedderman does something to make them destitute. He’s just one guy in the Senate, but I hope he is the deciding vote to shut down their coal, or do something else to industry the state is highly reliant on. Elections have consequences, and I sure hope they see those consequences. His getting elected is the biggest head scratcher of them all
